Care & Usage Instructions

To ensure your ASOS pieces stay looking fresh and last longer, please follow these general care instructions. Always refer to the specific care label sewn into the garment for the most accurate information.

1. Clothing Care

  • Cotton & Denim: Machine wash cold inside out to preserve color. Tumble dry low or hang dry to prevent shrinkage. Avoid using bleach on colored denim.
  • Wool & Knits: We recommend hand washing in cold water with a gentle wool detergent. Do not wring or twist. Lay flat to dry on a towel to maintain shape. Hanging wet knits will cause them to stretch.
  • Synthetics (Polyester, Nylon, Rayon): These can usually be machine washed on a gentle cycle. Use a cool iron if necessary, but be careful—high heat can melt fibers.
  • Silk & Delicates: Professional dry clean is highly recommended. If hand washing, use cold water and never tumble dry.

2. Footwear Care

  • Leather: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Use a high-quality leather conditioner every few months to prevent cracking. Keep away from direct heat sources (radiators), as this dries out the leather.
  • Suede: Do not use water to clean suede. Use a suede brush to remove dirt and restore the nap. We recommend applying a protective suede spray before the first wear.
  • Sneakers: Remove laces and insoles before cleaning. Surface clean with a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Air dry only.

3. Jewelry & Accessories

  • General Rule: "Last on, first off." Put your jewelry on after applying lotion, perfume, and hairspray to avoid chemical damage.
  • Storage: Store items individually in the provided dust bags or a jewelry box to prevent scratching and tangling.
  • Water Exposure: Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or exercising. Moisture can cause tarnishing, especially on gold-plated items.

4. Decoding Common Symbols

  • Bucket with Water: Machine wash (number indicates temp in °C).
  • Triangle: Bleaching allowed (if crossed out, do not bleach).
  • Square with Circle: Tumble dry allowed.
  • Iron: Ironing allowed (dots indicate heat level).
  • Circle: Dry clean only.
