I have this same belt, only older, about 25 years older. The new belt [which this review is for] looks very much the same. However, there are minor differences. The old belt has the Carhartt name stamped into it on the inside surface near the center of the belt. There is also a model number and Made in USA stamped in the same area. The new belt did not have the USA marking on it. Furthermore the keeper loop (leather loop next to buckle) was not as nice as the old belt. The loop on the old belt was stitched together at the ends, the new belt has one metal staple. Only time will tell if the new belt will last. The old belt still works and keeps my pants up, but it has years of wear, paint splotches, etc on it. I got the new one basically for appearances sake. The buckle is removable, the belt has snaps that can be opened. This allows changing the buckle - you can swap it out for your favorite trucker or cowboy belt buckle.

I had one of these belts for over 2 years—a feat for me because I can’t seem to get a belt to last more than 3-6 months usually. The first belt lost the stitches, sewed it up and have it as a backup. The second belt I’ve only had for just over a month and it seems to be different. It was really stiff when I got it and has stretched to the point of not fitting on the smallest adjustment. The buckle dug into the leather so that the end of the belt is rippled from stretching and adjustment. The finish on the hide has scraped off in many places and th leather has also warped throughout the belt. My previous belt was used and abused for 2 years and none of this occurred. Very disappointed in my newest belt. Even the $10 Walmart specials hold up better than this. I gave 2 stars because of th longetivity and durability of my first belt, but I would give the new belt zero stars if I could.

This is the only belt Ive owned that doesnt split apart at the seams or crack or break. I bought this as a replacement for the same belts (I have 2 others) that Ive had about 5 years. The belt does stretch over time, but thats probably why it doesnt crack or break. The old belts lasted so long I got a leather punch and added extra holes. Even after years they really didnt look bad, just dulled finish on the buckle. This latest belt has stretched a little, mostly right after I started wearing it. I knew it would so I ordered one size lower. Ive had it since April 2016 and it doesnt seem like its stretched that much anymore (still on the same hole), so ordering my actual size probably wouldnt have been a problem. Quality of this belt is very good and Ill continue to order when I need a new belt. I expect this one to last a long time as I still use the others to wear when Im working in the yard.

I bought this belt several years ago and it held up really well. After if finally needed to be replaced, o wanted to replace it with the same one. I read the reviews and it seemed like they may have changed how this belt is made or outsourced its manufacturing. People were saying it was not a single grain solid leather and is of lower quality than the older version. Unfortunately, I can now say thats true. Used it for several months now and its not holding up nearly as well as the old version. Bucket scuffs up the leather, and the leather is certainly lower quality than it used to be at a minimum.

Bought in September of 2014, worn every day w/ key clip. I work outside in all types of weather. I ride a motorcycle in all types of weather. This belt has stood up and I’ll bet will continue to. I take care of it, re-dye it occasionally. I like utility. If it doesn’t have a purpose I don’t want it. There it is.
