I ordered this belt because I had previously purchased and older Dickies belt that had served me well (and still looks okay). When I received this belt it look like the outside facing leather was almost painted /covered black. I thought it might be a new way to make leather more durable but I realize now that this belt I was sent did not have a proper leather top (its more like suede on both sides and one of the sides, the outside side, had been covered in something to make it more like real leather). So either Dickies quality control let one slide by and I got unlucky or is a slim possibility that these are not real Dickies brand name belts. I just dont know. On the bright side it still works as a belt it just looks like the leather is molting in to a spotted suede.

Big mens belt with a decent price tag. The leather is high quality and doesnt stretch! The buckle is solid and easy enough, but some mornings the belt causes what I call AM rage.. when it takes multiple times to line both pins up. Generally this is a sign of the day to come, so I consider it a free service that Dickies provides.. It seems to run a little big, but with a decent pair of sheers that isnt a big deal. The holes go the entire length of the belt so you wont have to worry about punching holes as you lose weight.. eh hem.. if thats your ultimate goal. I like that the black looks good with whatever im wearing, so I can stick with this one universal belt. Ultimately this is an outstanding buy. Im hard on belts, and occasionally forget to grab my duty belt when I go to the range. This one is stiff and wide enough that it holsters my sidearm well. Good stuff..

I was worried when I first got the belt — it was slick like bonded leather — but as its worn it has proven to be the real deal. Having so many holes I can always find a size that fits my waist du jour, and its sturdy. Even clamping it with suspenders hasnt bothered it, although the leather has developed bends in those places, as expected. At this point, I expect many years of use out of this belt, and Im delighted to have gotten it so affordably.

I bought a black one of these at a hardware store and have been wearing it regularly for over 10 years. Over time it stretched, developed a permanent sag, and some surface wrinkles, but it still works. Its survived both casual wear and hard work with tools hanging from it. What I like best about it is its designs flexibility to adapt for weight loss and growth. The hardware and stitching of this new brown one looks to be of the same quality, however the leather is more of a matte porous texture than the smooth somewhat glossier texture of my older black one. Also, although both are marked the same size, the new belt is almost 2" longer and 1/4" wider than the older belt.

I use this leather belt to carry a tool pouch for my home carpentry and DIY jobs. Even if you have a small or single pouch tool belt, you need a relatively stiff and strong leather belt to carry the tools without too much sagging. If I tighten the belt just enough, the Dickies belt does the job. It might have been stronger or stiffer if Dickies chose to make only one row of holes instead two roles of holes in the belt. But the belt still works for my purposes.
