I wanted a belt that would actually fit through the "tunnel" style belt loops on my Dickies shorts and trousers. Most belts designed to be worn with casual trousers and jeans do not fit through Dickies belt loops, so I measured the belt loops, then looked at the measurement for this belt -- its real close. I rolled the dice, and fortunately enough the belt fits quite nicely through the loops. Its snug, but thats good, because theres no rollover effect or anything like that. The belt itself is a basic, inexpensive leather belt. It looks sharp and is sized accurately. If you wear a size 42 waist in Dickies trousers, your size 42 belt will fit. I went a size bigger to be safe, and it still works. In the unlikely event I lose a bunch of weight, I might have to punch some new holes in the belt, but Im not on the last set of holes yet. This is an ongoing issue with Dickies and the casual buyer -- Dickies doesnt size things like a typical fashion retailer. They dont make a size 41 jean and call it a 38 to make you feel better. They make a size 38 pair of work pants and call it a size 38. These are uniform clothes, cut and sized to be bought my HR reps who take a measurement of the worker and order clothing accordingly. Thus, you should measure your actual waist (or wherever you wear your trousers) and THAT is the size of belt/trousers you should order.

Wow, what a let down. I purchased this same belt eight years ago in black. I am still using that belt to this day. Its heavy, holds it shape, and is still attractive after all these years. Sure, the wear is apparent, but it still has its color and is perfectly acceptable in almost all situations. Because of this I wanted to get another one in the color brown. Immediately I noticed what other reviews have said. The leather is thinner and not as heavy. It is also much more flexible than not the old belt, somewhat flimsy. The wholes arent finished on the inside. The metal clasps and protective ring dont have the noticable metal noise of the old belt, signifying much cheaper metal. Ive been wearing it for two weeks and every day I have to switch the direction I put it through the pant loops in an effort to push back the bend left from my back. As I look at the belt while writing this, there are already noticable waves in the leather. The fit is good, and thats the only reason I bumped the review up a star. I dont expect this belt to last more than a year. Honestly, I paid less for it in 2018 than I did in 2010. But, I gladly wouldve paid double if I wouldve got the belt I was expecting. Sad, as my old belt now seems irreplaceable.

I tend to do a lot of research, reading reviews, etc before purchasing something ... maybe too much at times but the more I read about this belt, the more confused I got. Some say it fits perfect, others say to add a couple of inches and the description says to add a couple belt sizes. I figured that since I fluctuate between a 33/34 waist size, I would order a 36" belt. I think, however, thats the length of the belt because at the loosest hole, I only had maybe a couple of inches past the buckle, not quite to my 1st belt loop. What is perfect though is Amazons return policy, at least in this case. I requested a return, printed the label, packed it and dropped it off at UPS and when I got home I had an Amazon credit waiting for me. Ill be replacing it with a 38 inch belt just for the extra length. Regarding the belt, the leather is nice (not too stiff but not too pliable either) with kind of a matte finish and evenly tanned and the buckle is metal and has a matte finish on it as well. Overall, its nicer (both in quality and appearance) than some other more expensive belts Ive owned. I do IT work so theres a lot of bending and twisting and hanging stuff from my belt so well see how it holds up with that but it should be just fine. For those who dont know, 38mm is just a tad over 1 1/2". If I were to carry a gun, I would probably lean towards a little stiffer, thicker and wider belt but those tend to not be as comfortable for every day wear. YMMV Hope this helps.

Ive been wearing this belt daily for three months and five days. No rips or tears or any signs of weakness. Its comfy and strong. I wear a pant size 38 and bought this belt in size 42. Fits perfect. I work in appliance repair so I do a lot of bending over, kneeling, crouching and plenty of driving. This belt doesnt bother me except for sometimes while Im driving but I blame that on my gut hanging over the belt and not the belt itself. I highly recommend this belt based on price and quality. Excellent value. Update (6/2017): Its been a year now and this belt is holding up beautifully. No rips or tears or any signs of weakness. I wear is literally everyday. Highly recommended.

My husband kept breaking his belts at work (construction) so I was in the market for something affordable, durable, and that would last longer than a week! So far this belt is a winner! I only buy prime, with that being said, we received a genuine Dickies belt, its soft and broken in, and states "genuine leather" on the inside. The buckle itself seems to be well made and like it will hold up to the wear and tear my husband is sure to put it through!
