I had an old belt, still have it, but lost weight so I needed a new one. My old belt had a piece of metal that bent backwards and worked flawlessly. This future salvation army donation or burn pile is absolute rubbish with its straight pin hook style, or semi stay hooked style. Always pops open at the most inopportune time, usually when lifting something or twisting about. Need a serious re-design and put the post back at an angle like it needs to be to prevent unbuckling. You see, people that buy belts, need them to actually STAY buckled when installed on said humans.

I am really glad I bought this belt! Its perfect. It does everything it was designed to do. Theres no exposed metal, you can tell theres a metal plate sewn into the leather which includes the metal pin that sticks out toward you instead of having a traditional buckle. It kinda feels backwards at first putting it on, because instead of having the extra length of belt go over the belt into a loop after buckling, this one you slide the extra belt under through a loop and then notch it, if that makes sense. If not, youll see what I mean when you get the belt, and either way its not a bad thing, it just feels different at first. The best part to me is the fact that this belt will NOT set off metal detectors, as I have to pass through one every day at work. Its the only real reason I bought this belt so I am very pleased to confirm that it doesnt set them off. A huge added bonus is that this belt is probably the most comfortable belt Ive ever owned, due to its design of not having a metal buckle right at your waist. I have to bend down and over a lot at work, and sometimes which a buckled belt it could pinch or otherwise cause discomfort; not so at all with this belt, it completely eliminates any of that. The sizing is great too. I am a 33 waist, which means I usually have to find 34 pants/shorts and wear a belt. For the record I got the Medium 34-36 size, and it turned out perfect for me. There are seven notches in the belt, and I am right at the fourth/middle one. Lastly, the price was what? $12? And the brand is Dickies, a terrific brand which is known for work attire so I know it will last a long time. Perfect! UPDATE: I ended up coming back and buying a Small size of this belt as well. I must have lost a bit of weight, because I started needing the 5th hole and sometimes the 6th on the medium. The problem with that is, it creates a lot of extra belt and having that became a bit uncomfortable, so I figured the Small would be more my size. First, I will mentioned I paid $17 this time as I guess the price fluctuates, but still well worth it in my opinion. When I got it, it looked like it would be too small, but if you line the belts up side-by-side, the holes do match up to where what was the 6th hole on the Medium is only the 2nd on the small, meaning theres very little "extra" belt to have to tuck in, so whether I go with that hole or a little looser on the 1st hole, either way is more comfortable. Ive added some pictures. The Small is 40" long, the Medium is 44".

Ive owned Dickies no scratch belts previously, including this exact model. Theyve never been the most durable, but they were decent for the price. However, the latest belt I received is just garbage. There are two glaring issues with what I received: 1. The ball type clasp it uses arrived broken. The post with the ball on this new design isnt welded or epoxied to the backing plate. It was screwed in, but the threads are stripped and theres no protective sleeve over the bottom of the post either. Its a terrible design change. The threaded portion is only half as thick as the post shaft itself and only has 2-3 rows of threading on it. 2. The material of the belt itself is thinner. I held it directly next to an older belt, and the new one is maybe 2/3 the thickness. Even on the older belts there was a problem with cracking and tearing. This new thinner material is showing wrinkling and raised fibers on the back side that will eventually lead to tearing. If its like that fresh from the packaging I doubt itll last more than a month before needing to be replaced.

As a professional tech I needed a belt like this to make sure I dont scratch vehicles when I am leaning over the fender working. This belt does the job perfectly! Its easy to put on and I have yet to have it unlatch while I am working. The price is great compared to similar belts from the tool trucks and I think that its more versatile. If you need it to be smaller you can just punch or drill another hole to make it fit the way you need it to. My only gripe which I knocked 1 start for is that the description when I bought it didnt give an indication what waist size the small, medium, and large would fit. I wear a 36 waist in pants and shorts, my actual waist is 34 inches. I bought the large belt and I am using the very last (smallest setting) belt hole for it to fit me. I probably could have gotten the medium and been fine.

I like this belt for the most part. It looks nice enough and has a solid feeling too it, and isnt too thick to be annoying. However, be aware that the small stud that locks the belt in place is actually threaded into the buckle. It somehow loosened on mine and I ended up loosing the stud, so the belt no longer works. I liked it enough to order another one, and I removed the stud and then glued it in place right away. Im not sure if this is a common problem, but you may want to check that the stud is firmly screwed in.
