I really want to love this belt. Its minimalistic, simple and comfortable. However, being that its one piece of webbing and one milled buckle, I wouldt expect the price. However, if it was high quality, Id be able to live with the cost. Unfortunately, the buckle of mine came with bare metal showing, which is due to a poor anodizing job, and burrs in the metal, which shows poor finishing. For the price, Id expect something thats going to last a while, not come with bare metal showing through before its rubbed anything and burs that are likely to snag clothing. Hopefully I just got one that slipped through the companies quality control, and the rest arent this poorly produced.

Writing this on a mobile device so will be crisp. 2 issues 1. The size was big, so I cut it like mentioned by others and used a flame to heat the cut end. However it started to flay and heated it again and again but no good. Difficult to push it thru the buckle. 2. Unlike what others have mentioned the nylon part of belt gets crumpled frequently and I have to keep un-crumpling them. On the whole a disappointing purchase. Maybe I got a bad egg. Who knows

I’ll start off with the good about this belt. I really like the idea of a sleek, minimalistic, and sturdy belt. However, I feel like they compromised functionality with this belt. It looks really good, but it feels cheap and is clumsy to put on and take off. It feels cheap to me because of the aluminum buckle and plasticy webbing of the belt. I would’ve like something more weighty than aluminum, like stainless steel, or brass. Not that aluminum doesn’t work, but it’s just a preference. And the webbing feels pretty cheap as well, it’s plenty strong and has pretty much zero chance of it ever breaking, because they’re not lying when they say it’s used in the military a lot, but again it’s a weight thing. All that being said, I do think that this belt could last a really long time. On the note of it being clumsy, putting it on is kind of like putting a sweater on an animal (or child, same thing really). I have to fight with it to get it on and tight enough where I like it. It really wouldn’t be a bad idea to maybe slap some Velcro on and some sort of strap to hold it in place. In conclusion, it’s study and sleek, but it feels cheap and weak.

"Did you buy old man pants with an elastic waistband?" That was my wifes reaction on first seeing me with the Grip6 belt on. Granted, shes used to seeing me with a leather belt, so its something to get used to, but its also my biggest gripe about the Grip - it really isnt that great looking. It does its job - holds your pants up, doesnt poke into my stomach when I sit down - and for that, it gets four stars. Im knocking the one star off for two things: the style, and the buckle mechanism itself. The way you buckle this thing, once its wrapped around your waist you take the loose end and push it through the belt from front to back. This results in the slack of the belt actually coming behind the belt buckle. As you can imagine, getting this pulled tight is a bit of a challenge. Youll end up with your fingers pulling at the belt slack, between the belt buckle and your waist, which means you really have to suck your stomach in to get that to happen. Part of why you bought this thing, ostensibly, was to stop stuff from poking at that tender underbelly. Anyway, its something to get used to. Once you do get it buckled, youll find the belt nylon itself will end up getting sort of creased where you normally have it set. This doesnt show on the belt to the casual eye, but it gives a sort of natural bump where the belt buckle will want to sit. Because of this, minor tweaks - in/out about a centimeter - are pretty difficult to accomplish. The belt really wants to just settle in where it normally is. That sounds negative, but dont mistake me. If you can get past the style and get used to the buckle mechanism, its pretty good. I like how it doesnt poke me. Its nice and lightweight, something you dont think about when you have a thicker leather belt adding bulk to your waist.

Well manufactured without any frays or overly sharp edges. The nylon belt is pretty rough and stiff to the touch, not surprising as durability seems to be one of the main selling points of the belt. The simplicity of the design is neat, however, even after having worn the belt for several months I feel like it is difficult to cinch quickly, as the belt does not feed very smoothly through the buckle. That being said, once it is cinched, the belt will hold its position without fail. I think this is a bit overpriced, and perhaps most of the cost is its novelty and the unique mechanism of the belt, but I am happy to pay a little more for a product made in the USA. This would make a nice gift for someone who likes clean or minimalist designs.
