Ive bought one of these ratcheting belts before and so this is my leap into these belts because I have learned that I really like this design. Let me tell you that I got this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion and you can see my other reviews and see that I do not always give 5 stars. This belt was easy to use, simple to shorten (just cut off what you dont want with regular scissors), simple to adjust, and the leather was very soft to the touch. The bucket is pretty simple and the clasp/locking mechanism has a nice feel to it for when it clicks in and then releases. You stick the flat end of the leather into the back and just close the clasp to hold the belt onto the buckle. After that you simply thread the belt through your pants loops and then stick the pointed end of the belt through the opposite side of the buckle and let the ratcheting begin. Once it fits well measure how much of the belt sticks out too far and thats how much you should cut off the flat end of the belt. I had to cut off nearly eight inches (the belt comes to you VERY long so that you can shorten it). After I shortened it I reinserted the leather into the buckle, tried it on, and it fits like a glove. When I am feeling a little thinner I can ratchet it a little more without having to go a whole belt hole more like with regular belts. Its so nice that it can adjust in small increments. Im a fan of these types of belts and the buckles too and will continue to buy more. Im going to test it out for a few more months and then Ill know for sure how well it holds up after some time.

My belts dont last very long as I am a very active person, both at work and at home. Most of my belts have been used to their fullest, but they usually dont last but a few months especially in the summer months. The hole get used over and over, and it taxes the belt to the point of breaking or not being able to support my pants because the hole is worn out. This ratcheting belt has been a life saver and a wallet extender. There are no holes to wear out, you just snug your belt by hand, then ratchet the buckle to firm up the grip. There is a release on the buckle when it comes time to taking it off and it is like butter using the ratcheting system rather than a hole. The design on the buckle was an eye catcher when I ordered it on line, but when I physically had it in my hand, the picture comes way short of the actual look of this design. Very solid build, and the overall look of this belt seems to say you spent a very pretty penny on it but actually did not. Very pleased with my purchase, and will definitely be coming back to purchase these in the future.

Belt arrived in a very nice slipcase package, and the individual pieces protected. Bad news first (lets get this out of the way): 1) Assembly - was that attaching the buckle to the leather was not easy at all (you have to swivel a toothed piece of metal into the leather to secure it to the buckle. Tried as I might I could not get the teeth to sink in without the aid of pliers, which, sadly marred the buckles metal surface at the lower matte grey end (see photo). For this I took away a star. 2) Had to figure out how to release the buckle - mine came with no instructions. Once I did, however, its quite easy. :) What I do like: 1) Its easy to put on (just different, because the end goes under rather than over in the buckle) and you dont have to worry about "reaching the next hole" to get a secure (or overtight) fit. 2) I love that its full-grain leather rather than bonded (or other cheap piecemeal material), because this should last quite a while longer.

I wasnt certain this this would be a good purchase however I was happily surprised that all went well. I needed to trim the belt as was very long. No problem. Scissors did the trick. Fitting the belt into the buckle and clamping the spikes in is very easy. The belt looks good and the fit is custom as the click system allows for more precise size than a normal belt with holes. Lose weight, no problem. Gain weight, likewise. If this holds up to wear and tear then this was an excellent choice!
