These would be my second pair. The previous ones lasted about six years but proved to perform poorly when matched against Michelins mounted on on Subaru - yes I ran over my own sunglasses! I highly recommend them otherwise; if youre over 30 and need to look cool but grown up without spending ridiculous amounts of money, these shades are well worth it. They are optically perfect w/o any distortion and wrap around enough to keep annoying sunlight from getting into your peripheral vision. They are dark enough for most situations and are not polarized - something Ive always found annoying if not gimmicky. These are serious sunglasses. BTW Ive always worn mine with set of Croakies® sport bands You can use them to keep from losing your shades and cinch up the retainer and they will stay on even while riding on a jet ski: http://www.amazon.com/Croakies-Cotton-Eyewear-Retainer-adjustable/dp/B002P68BT4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1427282286&sr=8-9&keywords=sunglass+croakie+black

These are *almost* an exact replacement for the Maui Jim Typhoon sunglasses, which went out of production many years ago. If you are like me, and love/loved your Typhoons, then these will likely be good enough replacements. I had my Typhoons from 1997 until about one month ago, when they were destroyed. The Predator 2s from Ray Ban fit my face almost exactly the same as the Maui Jim Typhoons, they are almost the same shape, are almost the same coverage for side light intrusion, and are still in production so I could actually buy a pair. The Predator 2s do not have the spring loaded arms like the Typhoons had, but really, I dont miss the spring loading at all. Honestly I wore the Typhoons for so long, I frequently forget that Im wearing the Predator 2s, and am surprised when I see that they are the Ray Bans after I take them off. I bought the polarized lenses.

They are not made of NASA grade pyrex. They are not even Bausch and Lomb glass. I dont know what the heck they are made of. They are polarized, I hope.. The frames are NOT solid gold. They are not gold plated. They are plastic. So, what did I pay $150 for? A name. A name and a pair of extremely overpriced sunglasses underneath the paint that says RayBan. That, and the hope they are not fakes. I have heard Amazon has sold fakes in the past. They better hold up, thats all I can say.

These are replacing my all-black RayBan Olympians that I lost, which I had for 20 years, and are no longer produced. The RayBan Predators fit perfectly and have glass lenses that are of top quality. These are the same glasses that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones wore in the original Men In Black film. They look classic and stylish without being obnoxious or Oakley-ish. You can wear these with a suit, or with jeans and a T-shirt, or with shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and these sunglasses will complete the look appropriately with the highest degree of style and functionality. G-15 lenses are non-polarized and provide amazing clarity and coverage.

I have been wearing Ray-Ban Predator sunglasses for over 20 years. I think this is my 5th pair. I have worn Oakley, Wiley, and Maui Jim and these are the only sunglasses consistently fit well. I have even had prescription lenses put in them in the past. If I scratch the lenses, I get replacements. I wear them until they break, or my wife borrows them and loses them. I will always have a pair, as long as they keep making them.
