I bought this for a friend. Hes 62 and I guessed he might have needed a large. I guessed right, to my surprise! He isnt on the heavy side, but muscular. I think maybe he weighs about 170. He loves it, though! He was very happy with the warmth and thickness of it. Perfect for WA weather.

Perfect fit for my husband. My husband is 6 tall and he is always bending over and wanted another Carhartt sweat shirt that would ride up when he bent over in the cold and this one is the perfect length. Its not too long when standing up and still keeps your back fully covered when bending over . he loves the midweight for the chilly fall days and nights and even when its been in the 30s here at night so far he has only worn a t-shirt under it and said he isnt cold. He already has the heavy weight thermal one so this is a perfect for the in between times when its cold but not cold enough for the heavy weight thermal one

A bit heavier and better constructed than those I have tried before. I am very pleased about that. I only wear it during Houston, Texas infrequent cold spells. Its great for going out to the mailbox and taking the dog out in the wee hours.. The constriction was a surprise. The sturdy seams (some covered) and large zipper suggests that I am going to have this hoodie for a long time. I have already washed it twice - no shrinkage, and nothing noticeable in the dryer filter. I bought 1 size larger than I order in shirts, and the little bit of extra room & slightly longer sleeves makes it very comfortable and super-easy to get into and out of. As usual, Carhartt does not disappoint.

I bought this jacket for my 17 year old son. He is 62 and 180 lbs. I bought him the Tall Large. He has very long arms and a long body. The length of the jacket is great. He usually wears a large tall in other brands too. On this jacket, the body is looser. He probably could have used a medium tall, but that was not available and this way he can layer under the jacket. The fabric of the jacket is very nice. It is thicker and warmer than expected. My son works in the meat department of a grocery store and he does a lot of work in walk-in refrigerators and freezers. He wears a t-shirt, gloves, and this jacket and stays nice and warm. He liked it so much that I ordered a second one. The fabric washes nicely too.

What a fabulous company. I have a hat and a winter coat by them, and some shirts, and now this item. It fits loosely and is exactly what I wanted in a hoodie. I feel like I sometimes do when I step up from cheap clothes to an unusually (for me) expensive item -- except that Carhartt items are roughly the same price, or even cheaper. I dont know how I could be happier with this purchase.
