I am a Carhartt fan. Their clothes are always up to the challenge of my boys. So as soon as I saw this zip down jacket, I bought it for my husband. The size does run slightly large. The fabric is thick and warm. The zipper is heavy duty and definitely wont snap or break anytime soon. It washes very well with other clothes and the colors didnt run at all. It also went in the dryer with no problems. Nothing frayed at all. In fact, this jacket has been worn by my husband and myself, been used as a blanket for my son when he fell asleep on the couch and used as a cat bed when I wasnt paying attention. (The cat loves it too!) The jacket is longer than I expected. But very, very warm!

I am 6 4" ~240 Lbs. (Yeah, I could stand to lose 10-20 lbs.) This hoodie is at least a full size larger than I expected. The length is a surprising 6" below belt line. Warm water wash / med heat dry shrunk hoodie appx. on full size with the length still being 4" below belt line. It is a bit long but otherwise fits perfectly. When they say "tall" they are not kidding. I am going to exchange this 3XT for a 3X and see how that works out. "Prime membership has its perks:)" The overall quality is very good for the $$ I docked one star for: *Difficulty with sizing, (it really is surprisingly long). *Brass / metal zipper difficult to zip / unzip out of box. A little lube solved problem. UPDATE: 8/8/16 Recd my 3X exchange yesterday. Ran it through warm wash / med. heat dry. Fit is perfect !! Length is appx. 2" below belt line.

My husband is a little over 6ft about 235 Son is 5 ft 8in about 225 Both are wide thru their shoulders and barrel chested. Both have a 32 inches inseam. Yeah...its like trying find things to fit a dang draft horse!!!! Their height...come from having loooong waist. It it next to impossible to buy off the rack for either guy but one thing I know about Carhart, off the rack in the XLT...... both guys are going to be happy with the fit. The sleeves are a bit long on both guys, but not so much it is a nuisance. With the extra length in the tall....they can raise their hands, move their arms around, work over head, bend over, or just sit down and shift.....and not have the bottom of the jacket end up under their arm pits. The jackets fit both guys across the shoulders and chest in a comfortable manner, plenty of room to move around in but a clean fit that doesnt look sloppy and ill fit. The seams are sewn solid, pockets are deep and the zipper is brass and sturdy. My son washed his, no issues with it shrinking, does so in warm water and doesnt toss it in they dryer. Hangs it up and lets it air dry.

I ordered this for my son a few years ago and bought a 4XL Tall. This time, there was no tall available in the 4XL. Apparently the tall only goes up to 3X. The 4X fit him but it was definitely shorter than the tall and a little too short on him. Not so short that hes sending it back, but it would have been nice to have gotten the tall. The quality of the Carhartt hoodie is amazing and still makes a wonderful gift. Please bring back the tall in all sizes!

So disappointed. My old carharrt hoodie that Ive had for over 10 years is finally no longer appropriate for wearing in public. It is so warm and thick. But they no longer offer that model, and this was listed as the replacement. The fit it pretty good but the big disappointment is the material is 55 cotton/45 poly where the old model was 85 percent cotton. In addition, the old one had a lined hoodie and pockets and this one does not. It weighs about a half lb less too. A light breeze goes right through it, where my old one kept me warm countless times along the chilly pacific coast. They call it mid weight but this is not even suitable for outdoors, much less a working environment. These are more like pajamas for a cold night.
