Carhartt just cant seem to get it right anymore. I typically wear a 34" in Levies but like my work attire at least one size up for dexterity. I just ordered 3 pairs of their "washed duck" shorts that I have worn forever in a 36", they wear very long, maybe three years as I am a contractor. This last order....the new 36" shorts were way too small, return and get a 38",still a little snug but do-able. So I decided to order 3 pairs of these denim shorts also. Selected size 38 as I needed in the "Washed duck". Im swimming in these denim shorts, what the heck, cant carhartt make their own clothing any longer. This is what you get when outsourcing to 3rd world countries. Time to drop Carhartt and try possibly Duluth.

I like Carhartt clothing. I think they meet my needs well. These shorts are no exception. The one thing I would point out is that the hem of the shorts will not necessarily fall where the photo shows it falling. I am roughly 6 tall, and In my case, the bottom edge sits at about the middle of my knee. This turns out to be a somewhat uncomfortable place for this bottom seam. I simply wish that the shorts were cut a bit shorter. I have the same issue with other Carhartt "shorts". For me, they arent as short as the stock photos would suggest.

After buying Carhartt products for fifty years I am disappointed in the sizing. Two years ago I bought this same short at my regular waste size, and they were too small. This year with those still in my closet unused I I ordered my normal waste size again, and the same problem. Thanks to Amazons easy return, or exchange policy I ordered the next size up, and they fit fine. Im sure that the fact they are now made in Ncaragua has had something to do with it, "MAGA Carhartt"

Im a fan of Carhartt dungarees and have worn both long and short pants for work for a number of years. Really like the front pocket design which wins out over other styles of jeans. Dont like struggling to get my hand in the front pocket or to get items out! My only complaint with these are that they were advertised as 8” inseam but are 10”. All my other Carhartt shorts have been 8”, which I like, and prefer. This is my first shorts of the Deepstone color with gold thread rather than white, and wonder if that made the difference. I will still wear these but probably go for one of the other two colors offered, in the future. Also like the many pockets, as well as the fit.

Most of my “wardrobe “ is Carhartt, but the last couple of purchases have left me singing the ‘mail order blues.’ I just got two new pairs of shorts because last year’s pairs are getting faded, stained and wearing a little thin. The two new pair, just arrived are nearly as faded as the old. What are you using, recycled denim? I saw nothing on the order page that indicates this workfare to be pre-faded, multi-washed “fashion ware.” I live remote and can’t just jump on a airplane or boat to get to a store so depend on ‘sight unseen’ mailorder and accurate description of items being sold!
