Ive happily worn Wrangler cowboy cut jeans for many years. Not sure if the two pairs I bought from Amazon are flukes, but these are definitely seconds and maybe thirds, nowhere near to the quality Im used to. They wrinkle out of the dryer, they have weird creases that are still there after several washings and the creases are noticeable because they are faded, and the dye is splotchy. Not only will I not buy them from Amazon again, but if I do buy more Ill make sure they can be returned and will inspect them carefully before using.

I went a size up or 2 up. I recommend you do the same. These are made in Mexico. The denim is thick and disable just like Levis used to be. They fit comfortable, a little snug in the thigh compared to "loose" fit but not uncomfortably so. These are vintage cut and denim weight, you have not be used to it. They dont make jeans like these anymore. I hope Wrangler keeps making these because I love them. They dont have the big leg openings, which I think are trending out of fashion anyway. They taper nicely so the heel doesnt drag. They still have the pocket rivets and Wrangler patch. These are nothing like Walmart wranglers, these are indistinguishable, to my memory, of the Wrangler jeans I wore in highschool in the 80s. They will be stiff for the first few washings but they do Not shrink much. Just a little like most denim does and they will relax a bit once youre wearing them. Im super happy with these. I used to prefer Levi 501s (back in the day) for similar fit and quality but unfortunately they dont measure up these days. I think the price was outstanding and I plan to buy more. Good job Wrangler on keeping these original and I appreciate they are not made in China like Levis.

They fit fine at first, then every time they are washed they shrink a lot. I also have the same Wrangler jean in the pre washed type (#13MWZPW) (same size) that do not do this. These (#13MWZ) do stretch out after I wear them a little while, but they are hard to get on at first. For some reason the non - pre washed ones like this shrink up more. Its not just the waist and length; even the waist button hole shrinks. I can barely get the button through the hole after washing - I have to force it with a lot of effort. That hole also stretches after wearing them awhile. Then it too shrinks up with the next washing. I am washing them the same way as the pre washed types which do not have the problem. I would definitely not buy the non pre washed type again.

I grew up loyal (to a fault) to Levis and I still enjoy much of their clothing. But when I had to start spending my own money on jeans (instead of my parents), I could no longer justify spending so much ca$h on jeans. My initial interaction with Wrangler was over 2 decades ago with their 5 star denim jeans, which I did not care for because of the tapered leg (even while wearing with sneakers). I transitioned to Old Navy whose boot-cut jeans were perfect for me until a few years ago, when the cut changed to accommodate trendier fashions which I guess Im just too old for. Last Christmas, after a 25 year hiatus, I bought myself a pair of Levis and the cut and material were so bad that I actually felt embarrassed for the company. So, I decided to buy this pair of Wranglers (plus a pair of Cowboy-cut slim fit plus a pair of Retro slim fit). Here are a few notes: 1. These fit better than the slim fit. The slim fit work for me because I am slim; but after wearing and washing both a few times, I like these much better simply due to comfort. Still, after a few washes, the waist on these shrunk. I do not dry them in the dryer after a wash any longer. 2. Cowboy-cut does not = boot-cut. I prefer a boot-cut and these are not boot-cut; however, they stretch over the boot perfectly without looking silly or bunching up. These look better over my boots than any boot-cut jeans Ive ever worn. 3. They are rigid! These jeans are not like the worn/relaxed jeans that many of us are used to, even after being washed and dried. Eventually they become worn, which means they last even that much longer than ready worn jeans (20% according to Wrangler). I recommend these (over the slim fit) to any man who simply wants a pair of man jeans that fit well. If you are sick and tired of all the irregularities that accompany todays mens fashions, these might be for you.

watch out for sizing issues at the waist ! I purchased Wranger 13MWZ both on Amazon and another outside vendor at the same time (pricing) and both sets of jeans were made in Mexico of HIGH QUALITY material, but the waist size *marked the same size* on both shipments were dramatically different in the waist fitment. The Amazon seller shipment was just about what youd expect from the size you ordered, but the other shipment was slightly different coloration and the marked waist size was OPTOMISTIC (for me)...fit more like the next size down and thus a bit too tight. It was obvious the Amazon purchase may have been more recent stock, but the outside sellers inventory was "new-old-stock" originally manufactured years before. Both were a great quality purchase and I am pleased with the product, just beware of the waist sizing discrepancies according to batch lot and when manufactured. No way to tell either without being able to try on--its probably smarter to order all you need from one place instead so if it doesnt fit you can exchange without extra shipping.
