This is the sixth pair of these pants that I have owned. They are great looking and good for any occasion; I wear them to work and I wear them hiking and hunting on the weekends. I bought my first pair in 2004 when I worked for the Forest Service. I wore them for two more years until they finally fell apart while working at Mt Rainier national park after putting them through many dozens of miles of hiking and climbing and 3 trips to central America. I was very sad that I couldnt find the Zion pants any more after that season as they were apparently discontinued... Fast forward to 2013, I was again shopping around for a good pair of hiking pants and the Zion pants were back again, much to my delight! The newer version fits a little more loosely on the legs and has a more stylish cut to it, but is still the same great pair versatile pants. A few reasons why I like them: First,I have an large build with strong legs and glutes, I am 64" and 300 lbs. Most pants are too tight around the thighs and butt and feel very constricting, these are looser without being baggy and the stretchiness for freedom of movement is awesome. These arent huge fat-guy pants by any means though, they have an athletic attractive cut. Second, they look good and are adaptable for any situation- work, casual hanging out, or hitting the hills for hiking, climbing, etc. I own them in 5 different colors. Thirdly, they are highly utilitarian with a medium-weight, quick-drying, stretchy fabric. I found them to be very comfortable traveling in hot and humid places like Costa Rica and Panama, and good for outdoor activities in all seasons in the Pacific northwest. At home in Montana I hike with them on in sub-zero temperatures in the winter with a good pair of long underwear underneath... So, in conclusion, these are the best pants Ive ever owned (no exaggeration, and I didnt get a discount for my review). They are pricey but go ahead and buy em, you wont be disappointed!

These are fantastic. I dont like to think of myself as a person who shops based on labels but Prana seems to put out a consistently good product, natural and organic materials, and tries to be a good corporate citizen. The pants are great for hiking in most conditions, in prolonged alpine conditions youll need an outer shell over them. But these can hack it with most other conditions. I hiked to the top of Windham in the Catskills ~3500 feet, probably single digits at the summit and all I had underneath was a base layer and my legs were fine.

Man, its hot in LA. My place doesnt have air conditioning, and neither does my truck. And I run warm, because I have a beard, and because Im an unrepentant meathead who likes to experiment with preworkout stims. So Im starting to realize denim was a bad choice. Enter this pro combination: these pants and Uniqlo Airism boxer briefs. The ventilated crotch gusset keeps my boys breathing easy, and the material is stretchy and light, so movement is totally unrestricted and the shape of my glutes and quads are still available for mirin, without looking like Im wearing Lululemons. Stains and water just roll right off, and I can sink-wash and line-dry in like, an hour if, God help me, I have to wear them for a week straight. I wear a W30L32 in Levis 514s, and a Small 32 inseam fits me just right, if not quite as low-rise or snug as the Levis. -Wrinkles: none. -Airflow: all. -Single, subtle cargo pocket: appropriate for church and gym. -Perfect if you only have space for a single pair of pants. -Farts: shared immediately with all nearby.

I bought these for my husband. Prana made an unannounced design change in this product. The 2015 style was made of a different material that was stiffer yet flexible and had a classier fit. While this version is baggy all around compared to the same size as the 2015 version. The ankle region is almost like a bell bottom and forget doubling up these pants for other occasions than the crag. Really disappointed in the design and fit. Had to return.

Bast pair of pants Ive ever owned by far! I wasnt sure about spending $79.95 on these but I had read a lot about them on sight and they were said to be and recommended as the best hiking/outdoor pants out there. I just got back from a 3 day back packing trip through the Allegheny Forest and wore these the entire time. When we started the trip the it was down pouring the first night. The next day it was muddy and every fern/bush/tree was drenched. It was Humid and about 84 degrees. No water beads or occasional rain shower soaked through these pants. If I were in an open field with a down pour these would start to soak through, but for my location nothing. There went through thorn bushes, broken branches, and scraped against rock walls. No problems. I was afraid they tore a few times from the sounds I heard, but with the stretch material and the overall quality of the fabric, they lasted through it all! At the end of the trip the bottom of these pants were black from mud that had been sitting there for 3 days, wet then dry then wet again. I thought for sure they were permanently stained. I put them into the washer and took them out. Yup, still there. I took a stain stick and rubbed it on the stained bottom of the pant legs (Spray N Wash Stain Stick) put them in the wash one more time. Gone! Well at least 90% gone, what was there you could barely see. Pros: 1. They dry faster than any other quick dry pants Ive had before (my legs sweat and it pulled the moisture from my legs) 2. They are very water repellant, standing in a down pour wouldnt be good, but if you did they would dry quickly after the rain. 3. Stretch material, Im 62" 208lbs and have thicker thighs. Most pants I try on hug my thighs and I dont like that. It over heats me and just feels uncomfortable. There left room but not like windbreakers, enough to move and they dont restrict movement at all. If you can lift you leg over your head without pants, you can do it with these pants on (I cant do it but I know they would let you). The waist is not stretchy, just the pant material itself. 4. Breathability, for how well these repel water, they breath amazingly. Yes there are pants out there that you can feel a gentle breeze move through your pants, but they will also soak in a matter of seconds. Theses have vent holes in the crotch area which did there job :) 5. Durability is amazing. As I said I was walking through throne bushes, broken down branches/tree limbs and even through weeds that when my hands even brushed them I felt like fiber glass had been shoved in my hand. These pants didnt allow any of those things to touch my legs or tear the pants in any way. 6. Light weight, these are very light for how much they do. They weigh less than a pair of cargo shorts. 7. Roll Up Pant Leg Snaps. I honestly did not expect to care about this feature or use it. After our first day hike when we made camp. Taking off my boots and socks and being able to roll these up a few inches to keep them from touching the ground and dragging, and knowing they will not roll down after walking around every few mins. It also really does open up the leg to allow air flow which cooled me down quickly. 8. Waist pull strap, this made it do you dont need a belt which is amazing, although if you want one, it does has loops for a belt. Again, Im 62" 208lbs with a 36" waist. I ordered the XL and XXL. Someone stated they were 34 waist and the L were perfect. The XL were perfect for me. Not using the waist strap left some room for me if I wanted it, but with a little pull on the strap it snugged them up as well as a bet will. They XXL were like me putting on a 38" waist, the strap snugged them up perfectly, but there was a lot of bunching in the waist, if you like that go large, I didnt. Cons: 1. Side pocket, this is a great thing to have but it is pretty hard to unzip and sometimes zip closed. Meaning prepare to use both hands, one to hold the zipper and one to hold the pants. The pocket itself is roomy enough, but dont expect to carry a phone, wallet, car keys all together, although it would fit it wouldnt be comfortable. 2. Sizing chart, I had to order multiple sizes to figure out what size a 36" waist would be, this isnt that big of a deal, but the pants arent cheap, and if your someone who cant buy multiple there should be a size chart at least letting people know, X-Small is 28" - Small is 30" - Medium is 32" - Large is 34" - X-Large is 36" - XX-Large is 38". I dont know if this is exact but from the 2 sizes I ordered XL and XXL, and the review I read stating he had a 34" waist and L was perfect. It seems this would be the case. Again do not quote me on this. That is about it. I hope this helped some of you with your decision. These are worth the price, they are great looking hiking or casual pants that I believe will last a long time. I recommend these to anyone!
