Ive been buying these shirts for my husband for years. Always a size medium, always this brand and style. I decided to buy from Amazon this year, and I am so disappointed. They are either cut much smaller than they used to be, or they shrink a LOT... either way, these are way too small; and now I have to repurchase from a local store. I am not happy about this, and would strongly encourage you not to buy these.

These are not the same quality as sold in the big retail outlet stores. My husband has been buying these same shirts from walmart for years now, but tried these because we are prime members. These shirts were a bit smaller then usual out of the pack, but once washed, they converted to a size medium/large. The length severely shrunk and did not even meet my husbands waist line (bought an xl and he is 5 foot 7 inches) the girth og the shirt shrunk also. I guess I will be using these as around the house shirts while doing chores now.. I would NOT recommend these at all.......

These are the undershirts I remember growing up with. As others have stated, they are thinner than the "softest ever comfortsoft" hanes shirts, but thats how an undershirt is supposed to be (worn under another shirt). I have both types of shorts, these and the über soft comfortsoft undershirts. I wear the über soft ones and normal shirts, and these more like undershirts (although I wear these by themselves as well, sometimes). These have a little bit of a tighter fit than the über ones, but I find them way more comfortable. Even though these undershirts arent Hanes "softest ever" like the other model I spoke of, I find them much more breathable and comfortable. I think there is a point where making something so soft it becomes uncomfortable and weird feeling and I think Hanes hit that point with their "softest ever" line - not with these, however; these are perfect!

I got the large undershirts. I am 63" and relatively slim. They were a bit big in the shoulders, but not so roomy they wont work as undershirts. They were adequately long though, which is nice. I will say the quality of the shirts is a bit subpar, but these were also super cheap so its a fair trade off. I use them as work out shirts, and they are so thin they are a step shy of being totally see through. No idea how this will translate into long term quality. Edit: Washed them on cold, and they shrank up a fair amount. Any extra room in the shoulders and length in the waist is gone now. Now they are just thin and form fitting. So while not ideal for my original purpose of work out shirts, they will now work as undershirts pretty well. I would not have purchased them if Id known they were this quality.

Im a decently big guy (for you) and was expecting these undershirts to fit similar to most other XL t-shirts. Before washing them I noticed they felt a little tight, and post-wash shrinkage took that even further. The shirt length is spot on. As far as comfort goes, its a Hanes tagless shirt, so 12/10. To be clear, the shrinkage is not necessarily a bad thing. I always wear some sort of collared shirt, so these inadvertently act as a compression garment, and have actually led people to commenting that I look like Ive been working out. So thats cool, I guess. But the flip side is that if I try to do work around the house in just an undershirt, I look like a sausage wearing pants. For me, Id probably give it a 4.75/5. But Amazon only deals in whole stars and I wanted to float the warning for other big guys out there.
