I had a pair of Teva water shoes for about 10 years. They were really well built , heavy duty and I could walk in them wet, dry, on land and in the river. When they finally gave out I tried several shoes and they all had major issues (lots of blisters when you try to walk in them when they are wet). These Blaze shoes have turned out to be a great replacement for my old Tevas. They are a lot lighter but well made and I can transition from creek/river to trail without worry.

Ive been looking lately for a nice pair of close-toed water shoes/sandals. Ive looked at a lot of brands including Keens, Chacos, and Tevas. I had settled on a pair of Keen H2s from a local store, but on a whim decided to order these from Amazon since they had great ratings. I am SUPER glad I ordered these! I have a narrow foot and a lot of shoes dont fit very well because theyre too wide. So many water shoes/sandals I had tried on just didnt fit that well. The best I had found were the Keens, but even those didnt fit as well as possible. I could also tell that there would be a place on my ankle that the Keens would eventually wear a blister after a lot of walking. When these Merrells came in, I tried them on and knew immediately I had found what I was looking for. They are light years more comfortable than the Keens, fit my foot perfectly, and look better in my opinion. The only knock I have against them is I wish they had better arch support. Its kind of there, if you squint, but I know other sandals out there have incredible arch support (Chacos). If these had Chacos-level arch support I would call them the best pair of shoes Ive ever owned.

These would be great (just like all of my other Merrells), EXCEPT there is a spot in the arch area that is absolutely painful on your foot. I keep trying to like them, but they are MISERABLE to wear. It is like some sort of torture device built into the arch area where the strap meets the foot-bed. Its not the arch support, but the seam that has a sharp feel to it. I tried wearing them to see if they would "break in" and not be so terrible, but it was not to be. I also dont feel as if I can return them since i have worn them. $100 mistake. This is the very first pair of Merrells that I have not loved. I am disappointed, to say the least.

Bought these for a week in Key West with lots of expected water activities. Wanted something I could walk the streets in but also step in the ocean/Gulf as desired. I wore them for several days before the trip around the house and even to my casual office. Look great. They were wonderfully comfortable—no blisters, no scratchy edges, no hurt anywhere with seeming good padding. In the Keys, took them biking, out to restaurants, some walking and no problems. Then yesterday my wife and I walked maybe 2 miles around Key West and by the end, the balls of my feet really hurt! Not the heel, not the arch, just the ball. Bummer! Thank goodness I brought my ASICS sneakers. So bottom line, after a week in the Merrell’s they are great shoes for kayaking, boating, fishing, whatever in the water, but long hiking and long walks, no, not for me anyway.

These shoes are great! Exactly what I wanted in functionality of a water shoe! Great grip, faster drying. Water flows in & out and shoe stay firm unlike typical wet shoes! They look dumb cause it’s a sandle shoe but obviously these weren’t made for a fashion show & they works great!! My only downside on these is It felt like it fit better at first then it does. It’s little extra in the toes but that’s ok cause a 1/2 size down would be to small probably. But after hiking in them for the 3rd time I noticed I was getting blisters because my feet are just a little wider then the shoe base so my foot walks on the inside strap that connect to the shoe. Hopefully as these break it more the fit will get better!
