I want to start this off with people who may be scared of the "Neutral" label these shoes have. Ill just say Ive worn Neutral shoes before,and these are very stable on your feet. Theyre not helping any under or over pronation, but they are firm. Now, about the cushioning. Woo boy, I dont think Ive quite felt a shoe that is both extremely cushioned and supportive at the same time. A lot of shoes claim to be this, but this is just... special. I cant feel the ground underneath my feet as a walk, theres a ton of spring to this shoe, but it feels solid. The fit is really nice too, I have wide feet and after the first day the mesh upper has stretched to feel very comfortable. Lastly, Im a big guy. 250 pounds. And these shoes hold up very nicely, the cushioning seems to be holding up well. Overall Im completely satisfied. I thought it couldnt get much better than Ultraboosts, but I can genuinely say I enjoy wearing these more. Oh, did I mention how freaking awesome they look?

I have been buying New Balance shoes for many years and these 1080v9 shoes are the softest and most comfortable shoes ever. The sole of this shoe is almost 3/8 inch thicker than the 1080v7 shoe I was using. I run about 5 days a week, but I wear my running shoes almost all the time. I like the black color because it does not show dirt as the shoe gets older. The width that used to be called "2E" is now called "wide".

I have been an NB customer for many, many years. I love their shoes and have owned many pairs. Prior to this, I owned two pairs of the 1080 VERSION 7 shoe. When I acquired the 1080 version 9, I immediately noticed the paper thin uppers and the fact that the sole is now one piece instead of reinforced with layers of flexible material like the V7. After wearing the 1080 V9 for about 3 days, the area around where my heal rests became shredded and the stitching has already worn through. Apparently, increasing the version number also means cheapening the shoe. The V7 version of this shoe is great! As I mentioned I have owned 2 pairs and loved them. But I was only able to find V9 when I went to buy a new pair of 1080s and V9 is VERY CHEAPLY MADE. My suggestion: DONT BUY 1080 V9!

I wanted to write a review on these shoes as it is very dificult to find shoes that fit properly. First off i think these are the most comfortable and supportive shoe i have ever had bar none. There is not much break in period a couple days and they fit like a glove. I have high arches and these shoes really provide great mid support/balance. First let me give you an idea as to the sizing by comparing another shoe i wear. One of my other favorite par of jogging or on my feet 12 hours a day (WORK SHOE) is the brooks glycerin15, in version fifteen I wore a 12M. Now just to show you how shoe size changes in the current brooks glycerin17 I had to get a 12.5W (wide). Because of the changing in size of the new brooks which i do have but do not like as much as the 15 I started trying different brands. The only other brand I found which felt great were these New Ballance 1080v9 but i found New Ballance shoes run extremely tight or skinny. So for this shoe my size is a 12XW or 124E, in this size they fit and feel better than any other shoe i have ever worn. I am 40 go to the gym 5 days a week, i have had back issues for 20 years which affects my running, walking, etc. These shoes definitely help, not cure, but help me get through the day. I stand all day because i have nerve issues when I sit which cause my feet to burn like fire so I started wearing these and my glycerin17 verse work shoes while at work and when i workout and between the two of these shoes they really help me get through the day. I highly recommend them. Side note, shoe brands change the way a specific shoe fits from year to year so the only way you will know if a pair fit is to try them on. When you find a pair which fit get as many as you can afford. I just baught my second pair and plain on getting at least three or four more pairs to put away as i hate trying to find good shoes that fit and these companies dont understand the concept of if its not broken dont fix it or change a perfect shoe!!! And one other thing when it comes to your feet dont be a cheap ASS when buying shoes and get shoes that fit properly if you plan on being on your feet when you get older, or invest in a wheelchair now. Great shoe, I’ve been wearing the 1080 for some time, they keep improving, the shoe is a little lighter on top with more cushion and the heal of the shoe is much easier to get on and off and very comfortable, it feels a little more wrap around the ankle, have the grey and the black/white, looking forward to more colors coming out
