First off..... Most complaints ive seen here are from large, flat footed people. Where they are failing and/or wearing quickly shows the tale tale signs of someone who has arch issues, "fat" feet or Should be wearing something with velcro... Ive walked at least 50 miles in them in the last 5 days since they arrived. They are extremely comfortable immediately (to me), look great, laces stay tied w/out a double knot, definitely ARE water resistant in wet grass and have great traction in the wet grass at all inclines Ive worked on. I am slender. They dont rub my heals or ankle bones which is a big deal for me. Im about to order another pair just to wear on the regular as I originally intended to use them for my turf management job only. Love Adidas. I have 20+ pairs I wear regularly right now.....

I was in need of a good pair of hiking shoes and after doing some research I decided to buy this one and I am happy with it. The plastic outsole is very light and has very good grip for both dry and wet trails (& for other outdoor activities that require good grip). The midsole gives enough cushion for long hours of walking & hiking with comfort. The top material feels breathable but is susceptible to get ripped which has not happened to my pair but because of the holes on it if horns or rough stems come in contact with its very possible. As for the fit I had to go up half a size to prevent bunions because I felt like my big toe was hitting the front of the shoe and was being pushed towards the center. The glue work around the sole could have been a bit cleaner for such a brand but its not too obvious. Overall, depending on the size the price can be very reasonable in comparison to other trail shoes and given how comfortable it is and the grip its good but the quality could be improved.

Updated July 2018: If you like the AX2 then youll like the AX2R Terrex. A few things to note though. I found they run a half size smaller than the AX2. I also found the fabric weave to be slightly tighter making the shoe somewhat warmer than the AX2. The tighter weave also meant the shoe fit more snuggly and required a break-in period rather than having a perfect fit right out of the box like the AX2. Update: The Terrex do not hold up as well as the original AX2 model. With almost equal mileage on a pair of AX2 and a pair of Terrex the sole on the Terrex is starting to separate from the foot at the outside of the foot by the small toe and the loops on the back by the heel for pulling on the shoes arent set at a convenient angle like on the AX2 and the stitching that holds the loops on has broken and they are barely hanging on so they are no longer usable.

I have had these almost six months and the outside material before the toe where the shoe flexes on the side is frayed. Bad design idea if the fabric cannot withstand the repeated flexing. My old AX2s had leather that ran across the side in that area but it has been cut back for these and replaced with a weak fabric. Im very happy with the shoe just not its longevity. They have fixed the sizing issues though, these fit as expected and the previous model I had to go one full size down.

I’ve taken these out three times now. The first was a large mountain in Southern California with around 1,800ft in elevation gain. The second was while mountain bike riding up the same hill. Third was a 8 mile hike with an elevation gain of around 2,300. These shoes held up amazing. Very comfortable and never game be issues. Highly recommended.
