I bought these boots for my son for Christmas and was initially very pleased. They are a great looking boot. However, after only 2 1/2 months of wear, the leather ripped from the back seam almost over to the side seam (approximately 3 inches) simply from pulling it on his foot. For the amount of money I paid for these boots I would definitely expect them to hold up for longer than a couple months. These are pull on style boots, so I would also expect that you should be able to pull them on without damaging them. I contacted the company with pictures and they instructed me to ship them the boots at my expense so they can look at it and decide if it is a "manufacturers defect". If they conclude that it is then they will refund my shipping and the cost of the boot. I am leery that I may be throwing good money after bad. I will update my review after their response.

This is a great cowboy boot. Easy to wear while riding because it has a nice soft upper that is flexible and supportive. It’s real leather and keeps most stuff out. If you are walking in mud you will be fine but if you walk in water up to your boot line, you will get wet feet. If you want full waterproof you will need to get ariats hybrid cowboy boot. The most interesting thing I found out about this boot is the color makes a big change to the way the boot feels. The antique grey I have a super soft and flexible on the lower and upper part of the boot. These boots that are in the picture (brown color) are soft upper but the foot part is hard leather. I had to get some leather conditioner and rub it on them to makes these feel like I wanted. Once that was done and they formed to my feet everything was great. I really like these boots and I would guess anyone that does any actual cowboy stuff in them would love them. I wear my antique grey and this brown ariat boot for everything on the ranch and anything in town ( I just hose them off first before heading into town) . The hybrid ones I use only for cleaning out the stalls because I love there waterproof aspect but just don’t find the non leather interior as comfortable as the leather ones.

Tan square toed boots had been catching my eye for a few years. Every time I’d asked someone what kind of boots they were wearing, they were Ariats. Everyone I talked to who’d had experience with Ariats loved them. My cousin moved here to Oklahama from Arkansas last year and recently purchased a pair. I was compelled to compliment him every time he wore them, and he continued to rave about them each time I did. I had him go with me to the store where he’d purchased his. The Rambler immediately caught my eye, but they didn’t have it in my size 11D (medium width), and the salesperson told me they had been discontinued. I tried on an 11D in the style my cousin had purchased (also a square toed boot) and they fit, as he, and the salesperson told me a new boot should, quite difficult to get on, and very tight across the bridge of the foot. I just didn’t like that style (which I can’t remember the name of to save my life) as much as the Rambler. I got on Amazon and started reading the reviews. Immediately it was obvious there were issues with consistency in sizing, some even stating that the sizing of the Rambler didn’t correlate to other styles within the brand. This was somewhat disconcerting, but with only one pair left in my size, I ordered anyway. They arrived today (1 day early!). The color was consistent with the boots I’d seen in the store. The quality looks great as far as the leather, stitching and soles are concerned. They took me 5-10 minutes to get on. I pushed my foot into one as far as I could, then I’d switch to the other, let the warmth of my feet soften and stretch the leather for a minute or two, and then repeat until I got them on. They fit just as the other style had in the store. I wore them for a few hours today and they already started to loosen up on the bridge of my foot a bit. I think after a few more days, they’ll be quite comfortable. I’m very happy with my purchase. I also purchased an Ariat roller belt to compliment the boots. I experienced none of the issues I’d read about in reviews about the holes on the belt being too small to fasten the belt without great difficulty.

This is my first pair of boots. I heard Ariat had a great name that makes quality products. I got my boots yesterday and it was love when i put the boot on. Very nice padded sole. The leather that goes up to your leg is very soft, no break in needed. You only really have to break in the toe. All in all i am pleased. I wish i went with the wicket brown instead though. The earth brown is not as dark as i would like but I’m not upset because I’ll use a boot polish that’s a little darker. Once again great boots!!! Do recommend.

Nice Boot. Tried this boot on at bass pro shops and really liked it. I am glad i went size smaller and had the chance to due this before purchasing. Amazon came in at $50 dollars less and received promptly and hassle free. This would be my 2nd pair and will most definitely purchase again.
