After about 4 months of use I really like these boots. Im a 10.5 so based on other reviews I ordered a size 10 and fits just right. Summer time hikes these boots are very warm but fall time theyre perfect. Ive traversed ankle deep water and they have stayed completely dry every time. They squeaked a lot when I first got them and slowly gone away as theyve worn in. I got them on sale so price wise I recommend them. Theres dozens of other boots available, some are probably better some worse. I chose these for style, decent reviews, and brand name. Ive only done day hikes but I like them

Thanks to Amazon Prime - I’ve tried on DOZENS of boots from several big brands (UA, North Face, Timberland, Merrell) and these are by far the most comfortable. They are light, grippy, not bulky like Merrell Moab 2 WP, waterproof - in fact these boots don’t even look wet after water hits them. I’ve tried on several sizes because it was suggested to order a size down.. I ended up sticking with my reg size. 13 fits like 13.5 but with thick socks it’ll be just right - 14 fits like a 14 though.. One of the best things about these is that they’re not narrow like the majority of hiking shoes out there. I never had to even look for a “wide” fit until I started to try on UA, Merrell etc - After wearing running /athletic shoes these will feel a tad strange, just don’t over-tighten them and after several outings they do start feel more like an old pair of sneakers. The come with an extra set of laces (brown) in case red is not your thing. I was hesitant on Brown/Red color comb - but it grows on you, esp w. jeans and some dirt around.

The only reason why Im giving a 4star is because it wasnt an intense trial I put these boots through. Also, for those ladies that have wider feet and buy guy boots for the hikes this review is mainly for you..Im normally a size 9 in mens and I went to a 8.5 for this boot..theres still a little room but works out for those that wear a thicker sock..I find them to be a little wider in the heal part. The boot is really light weight compared to what I normally wear on hikes..I actually jogged after my dogs like I was wearing a sneaker. Doesnt even feel like a boot. The sole has a very diesel look to it and even feels really tough..I trudge through the mud and water with these nothing seeped through found them to be very waterproof..the picture is after I sprayed them down cuz they were covered in mud..all n all good boot..Ill be trying them out for real in CO soon so Ill give a better update then

Great boot for what it is designed for. This is mostly for trail walking. I wouldn’t want to wear them on a serious hike since they are very light. They look sharp and as others have said order a 1/2 size smaller than normal. I usually wear a 10 and ordered 9 1/2. They fit perfectly. Don’t get me wrong, you could certainly wear these on a rough hike, however, I don’t think they could withstand that type of punishment for long before experiencing some type of failure. I bought these primarily for trekking local nature trails and such. I have a pair of Lowa Camino GTX for serious peaking. I should mention that I have owned Danner products while in the military and as a police officer and they make a solid product. Can’t go wrong with these as long as you are aware of their limitations.

While this review is posted in the name of Margaret, its actually submitted by Margarets husband Blair Wood. Blair says this boot is so good that I ordered a second pair as a reserve. I wear a size 9 1/2 D but often have a problem because of the longer than normal big toe on my right foot. This boot is longer and wider than the usual 9 1/2 D and accommodates the toe without any jamming when hiking downhill. I compensate for the width by using a heavier sock. I do a lot of hiking in the red rock desert around Moab, UT and the very flexible vibram sole provides an excellent grip on the slick rock while moving efficiently in sand and gravel. The boot is both light and well constructed and shows no wear after lots of vigorous hiking. I should note that I originally purchased the boot because it features a vibram sole without a heel. As I get older, I have begun to catch the heel on my boots when hiking on rough rock causing me to trip. This boot entirely resolves that problem while providing very stable and comfortable footing.
