Bought these boots 2 weeks before a trekking trip to Patagonia. I had serious doubts. Were they up to the task. Also, I had no time to break in. Almost 100 kilometers later I had no foot issues. They handled the harsh terrain flawlessly. I brought a backup pair of Solomon boots which was totally wasted weight as I never wore them once. Buy these boots with confidence. They will deliver.

Bought these Sept. 11, 2018 Review Jan. 11, 2019 Average 10k steps daily on these boots. These have been used for hiking and everyday use (mostly hiking). Im 330 pounds Overall great boot, lightweight and comfortable out of the box. Considering my weight and the hundreds of thousands of steps I have taken in these, , I would say they are worth it. These pictures where after i had the boots submerged thruout a hike and the back of the boot barely starter to give way today (same with the toe). Overall good quality boot that grips amazing on all surfaces wet or dry. Update 2/23/19 Waterproofing i dont think held up, i went for a wet/dry hike today and they got my feet all wet. Hard to tell if its the liner or the boot being to short. Overall im still satisfied..

Wow, very comfortable with a grippy tread. I bought these for light hiking and using my Alico Tahoes for the rocks/above timberline. These Danner boots were love at first hike with little to no break in. Ive only had them a week and after the first mile I knew they were keepers. I normally wear a 12.5 since a wider foot, but that is hard to find. I got the 12E wide and they fit perfectly. If you are a 12D and plan on using 2 socks (light inner/heavier outer) I would suggest getting the wide, but only if you are more on the D width and not a B (narrow)width. Traction is excellent on wet trails, feet stayed dry when rock hopping/creek crossing in 2-3" of water, and comfort is outstanding. Im buying a second pair since I hike our Sierras 2X a week. Very happy hiker.

Im 70 miles into a 150 mile hike on the AT through the smokies, and aside from the size issues the shoes are amazing. So far, and shockingly, no blisters even considering the size problems. I wear an 11 in everything and have for years, ordered these in a 10.5 and still could probably do a half size smaller. Theyre throughly waterproof, literally just got done hiking 20 miles, in the rain including over clingmans dome and my feet are the only thing dry. The one thing I would like to mention is theyre extremely warm. If you plan on hiking in these when its any warmer than 60ish, your feet will sweat. Other than all of that, Ill recommend these to anybody. I even had a through compliment me on the shoes whilst hiking.

Overall very good first impressions. As others have said the shoes are very light. The laces cinch up really easy by just pulling from the last loop. Mine came with a spare set of brown laces. These shoes have a classic hiking boot look yet feel light on the foot, perfect combination. The only thing I dont like is that the waterproof webbing on the tongue only goes as high as the last loop and not all the way to the top of the boot. Thats just plain stupid - it defeats half of the benefit of having mid height boots. I have some full height marine boots and the webbing goes all the way to the top of the tongue, allowing me to just walk through water as deep as the top of the boot.
