This is the 2nd pair of Tachyon boots I own (one sage green/one coyote). I have HOT feet, which are especially miserable in the summer. I thought my Rocky C4Ts would fix this because theyre light, but theyre hot as all get-out. These Tachyons are the first boots Ive owned that are tolerable when its hot out; as a matter of fact they work pretty well at keeping my feet from boiling; I wear thin dress socks with them. Extremely lightweight and comfortable - like athletic shoes. In fact, theyre so minimalist, it felt weird when first trying them on, after wearing heavier military boots for 23 years. Perfect for my line of work (pilot), but I dont think Id be parachuting/ fast-roping/clambering over rocky terrain with a ruck in these - ankle support is absolutely minimal and structure in my opinion is for light duty only. Kind of like Chuck Taylors. Way more efficient for packing in a suitcase - boot bulk used to take up 50% of my Samsonite....not with these. Finally, the Amazon picture of these looks like the sand color, but they are definitely coyote.

I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about products in the past. These boots are definitely something that I took a chance on. I’m glad I took that chance. First let me say: Everyone’s feet are different. I have had footwear recommended to me that killed my feet. My example is the Salomon XA mid forces gtx. People swear by Salomon but they hurt my feet. That doesn’t mean that Salomon is a bad boot, just not a good boot for me. Everyone needs to understand this concept regarding clothing and footwear. These boots, in my opinion are light and comfortable. They feel amazing to my feet. Plain and simple. Durability? Only time will tell. Honestly some people are rough on footwear, some aren’t. So keep that in mind.

LOVE these boots. I am a female with wide feet. Even those these are mens sizing, which usually means theyre wide, the regular width is too narrow for me. Luckily, they come in wide (EE) which was perfect!

Bought these hoping they’d be in accordance with Army Regulation 670-1 but they are not. The boots were an olive green and not Coyote like is listed.

Ill preface this all with the fact that Ive worn Danners for almost 8 years in the fire service, but this is my first time buying them for the military. The Danners I used to wear in the fire service were a size 11 (as most people recommend to buy up a size in Danners), but the 10.5 I bought with these were actually a little big on me. The other style of Danners that I ended up getting fit much better at an 11, so I dont know if just this style runs big or what. Comfort wise, they were comfortable as all get out, but they were also VERY lightweight (duh). Thats certainly not a bad thing if thats what youre looking for, but I feel like there was less ankle support with these than I was personally looking for. Overall, they were comfortable to wear and looked great, but if youre in a temperate area like me then they might not be warm enough for the upcoming winter months.
