Sturgis tested and approved. Comfortable boot, although not water proof or even water resistant as mentioned in other reviews. It is comfortable and is a "cool" boot with great ventilation to help keep feet dry. I wore them from Florida up to Sturgis this year....trip had various weather elements to combat (rain getting boots wet, but they dried relatively quickly for next day ride). Went through 12 different states, three different mountain ranges, and over 5,000 miles without an issue. Definitely worth the money. even if they blew out today, I would still buy another pair to use while coaching (MSF RIdercoach). *****Update.....had the boots a month now, but when I wore them this weekend to coach a motorcycle class, the heel separated from the boot for the left foot. I can probably glue it back, but it separated all the way around so while I will work to get more use out of what I bought, not sure I will or would rebuy unless vendor wants to replace them. I changed the rating from 5 stars to 3 as it looks like the endurance of the boots were only for one two week trip.

I was very surprised when I got these boots. I wear an 11w in dress shoes, 11.5 in tennis shoes, and 12w in Ariat boots. So, I ordered 11w in these boots and then was worried when I read the reviews and people were saying to get a size up. However, to my surprise the boots fit perfect. They seem very comfortable, I am still breaking them in so I expect they will feel even better soon. I really like the zip up feature on the side of the boot. This is my first set of tactical boots, I bought these to take tactical training with, but they are so nice I will probably wear them on the weekends also. I did see some glue between the sole and cloth parts of the boot, but I think this just may be excess. They do come with a one year manufacture warranty so I am hoping they last, but the warranty gives you some reassurance. The price on these is why I bought them, I dont wear boots like this on a regular basis, so I didnt want to spend a lot on boots. I will post a update in a few months.

These are the second pair I have bought. I was able to get 2 years out of the first pair before I wore a small hole in the sole. I work as a Security Officer so I do a lot of walking on all kinds of terrain from concrete, sand, landscaping rock and pea gravel to dirt and I have had no issues with foot slippage. These boots have an aggressive sole pattern so occasionally I might get a piece of gravel stuck in the tread. When you first get them they are kind of stiff but after the first week they tend to break in a bit. I found that for me not using the top two eyelets when lacing the boots makes it a little easier to flex your ankles when walking. All in all I really like these boots especially the zipper on the side which means I only need to lace my boots the first time I put them on, after that I just unzip them to take them off and Zip them to put them on. I would definitely recommend these boots to any Security Officer or person that needs to have stable footing.

I bought these boots because the reviews talked about how well these lasted since Im very active when I have them on. Needed new boots for SAR field work and these looked great. Arrived quickly and they broke in within a day. Got to say I was excited since they felt so great on. ( did wear them for 25-35 hours before going out in the field) First deployment in the field I was feeling upbeat, no slippage, comfortable and held their grip on the slick rock/desert terrain. Unfortunately, by noon a slight tear started forming where the toe bends on top of the boot and only increased after another 3 hours. This was the first time worn outside and I was very disappointed. The leather felt thin when I received them but most reviews talked about how well they wore. I was disappointed by that as well as no response to replace these under some type of warranty. Would not buy these again

I just got these boots today. I used to wear basic work boots bought at K-Mart or Sears back in the day. They allowed me to stay on my feet all day long. Nowadays I do not have to do that, but I am beginning to hike some and I prefer more support on my feet than a good pair of tennis shoes. I didn t want to go the route of an expensive pair of hiking shoes, that cost between $100 and $200. I remembered how well a cheap pair of K-Mart boots had felt when I was younger so I decided to follow the recommendations of so many people who bought these boots when other more expensive ones are available. I guestimated the size that would fit the best would be 12. I have a Narrow foot and since these come only in medium width I was concerned that if they were too long I would get a lot of movement in the heel and that is the worst case scenario for a pair of hiking boots. It turns out I was fairly right. Size 12 is right for me. I do fill them to the toes, but not uncomfortably. I did notice the removable cushion sole inside the boot was ok in terms of cushyness in the heel but in the area of the ball of the foot it was pretty flat and hard. I removed those and put in a pair of Dr. Scholls insoles that is more cushy in the ball and toe area and these have made the difference. Since the depth of the Dr. Scholls insoles is thicker than the ones that came with the shoe, the fit is all around a bit tighter. It is not uncomfortable tho and I think I will like them fine. I prefer a close fitting shoe that I can feel the support of all around my foot. I am pretty sure I will do well with these boots on the trail. If they loosen up a bit with wear I will just add another pair of socks. The heels are gripping my heels well and there is no slipping with them. The price is just great and for the use I will give them a very good deal. I also like the zipper sides. I adjusted the tightness of the laces when I had them off so that I got just the right amount of tension on the middle laces which pull the boots up close to your heels. Then, when I take them off I just unzip and slide them off. Going back on is also easy, nice and tight. I recommend these boots.
