I bought my original pair of Merrell Moab 2 in 2012 when I was doing overseas work and i still wear them today (replaced the shoelaces with 550 cord about 2 years ago). Ive gotten back into LE work and have blown thrown 2 pairs of 5.11 boots and 1 pair of underarmour boots in 2 years. When I found these Merrell Moab "tactical" boots I couldnt contain my enthusiasm. I immediately tried them on and they fit perfect (10.5 size). They feel just like my original Moab 2, comfortable, supportive, right amount of snug in the instep and ankles. I know these will last me years. Yes, they cost more than other boots (other than Danner) but they will last a long time.

Great fit! Despite the many warnings of Merrells running smaller, this model runs right in line with my 5.11 ATACs. I love that it is offered in a wide size, as it was much needed for my wide, flat feet. No overbearing arch support, roomy toe box (both easily rectified by some orthotics/insoles if that’s not your thing), and seem to need no break-in in terms of pliability. Side zipper is robust and smooth, very similar to the one on my ATAC boots (which has never failed me). Out of the box a very secure and comfy boot. Merrell hit a home run with this model.

Break in only took a week, they are very comfortable and light. Able to do a 16 hour L/E shift very comfortably. Do not know if they are completely waterproof yet but the minor rain I’ve been in was not a problem at all.

They fit well once you get the correct size, are comfortable, great grip. I love them. They seem to run almost an entire size or size and a half to large. Im a 9.5D and 9D in Danners and Bates RAT boots. *"D" is wide* Usually a 9D in Merrill. Ive owned multiple chameleons. But with these Im running an 8D. I even tried on the normal hiking MOAB 2 at REI and was a 9D to pre fit myself before I ordered these. I dont fin anything below a 9 in any other brand so I dont know whats going on with these. Otherwise they are great so far. Well see how they stretch in a few months.

most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Hard to put on , have had them about 2 months and wore them in a wet sloppy snow and my feet were quickly soaked. Not very waterproof.
