Tried it cause a co-worker recommend them. Shoe was comfortable, wider than expected. Now this i didnt expect. Ive worn gortex boots in the summer. Bates, 5.11, Under Armour, Salomon and Lowa so Im use to having hot feet. But the Merrells were thicker then any other boot Ive worn and didnt expect the adverse effects on my feet. Week 1- discovered odd rash like marking minus discomfort on tops of feet. No burning nothing. Figured maybe odd skin reaction to something. Treat it, call it, move on Week 2- rash grew larger on both feet and skin was drying out and peeling in same areas. Week 3- new boots trusted brand. Rash stops growing, skin starts healing, took almost two months for my feet to fully heal. ****Merrell gortex boots, to be worn in winter only *****

product fits great to size! Been wearing one week so far - not thrilled with the comfort of the upper ankle- almost feels like overtightened hockey skates- hoping this goes away with time! The side zipper is nice but also seems like an odd add if i could just slide boots on i would be happier. waterproof and very warm if the ankle break in actually happens i will be fine with these if not- probably cannot wear for long periods of time

For the price it seems cheaply made, I havent owned a pair of these for more than four months and already the stitching is starting to fray. I work outside,but am in no way hard on my foot wear even despite the length of time on my feet,and as for "waterproof" (one of the main reasons I got the boots) I figured walking through small puddles or even grass with dew on them would be no problem, but I was wrong , they are extremely absorbent so you wont feel the water right away ,but they are nowhere near as water resistant as some of the cheaper boots Ive had from Walmart, so that being said I suggest doing your research before buying a pair of these

I bought these for use as my motorcycle riding boots. They fit and felt comfortable from the moment I put them on. No break-in period was needed. I like the fit, the feel, the look, the ease of on-off and the quality of Merrill footwear. I bought them because they were advertised as wide. I wear a 12W or 12EE and these were wide enough for my clodhoppers. Definitely a great boot. If I am ever asked to be on another SWAT team, I have the footwear!

I ordered the 13W size in these boots and they were spot on. Super comfortable right out of the box. I love the zipper feature; allowing me to set the laces once and then just use the zipper for quick in and out of the boots! I took these out of the box and then rode with them on my motorcycle for a 2 day 500 mile trip through some hilly areas with many stops and starts through PA. I hit a fair amount of heavy rain on the ride and these boots kept my feet dry. They are pretty grippy on wet pavement for stopping. They were also very comfortable for hiking around at some of the destinations. While these dont offer full reinforcement and ankle protection like a true motorcycle specific boot they provided all I needed especially because most Motorcycle boots dont come in WIDE. I would highly recommend these boots (and already have recommended them to riding friends).
