Muck Boots Chore Classic Tall Steel Toe Men's Rubber Work Boot

My husband is picky about his boots--how they look, how tall they are, how much they make his feet sweat, whether his toes get cold, whether he has room for extra socks, whether they rub anywhere, whether they are easy to stuff a pant-wrapped leg into, whether they are easy to remove or cause "suction" when trying to remove.. etc, etc, etc. These passed on all points! It took about a week, but the dear man decided he couldnt find anything wrong with them. For background on environment where these are being used--we live on an island in Alaska..Windy (think 30 to 40 mph 4 or 5 days out of 7) rainy, rainy and windy together, wet boggy ground, active lifestyle, hiking, fishing (as in subsistence, not the relaxed kind of fishing that one might do on a lazy Saturday), constructing, fixing machines, repairing weather-damaged houses, and chasing a preschooler, a great dane-lab mix dog, and 12 chickens. Well, 11. The twelfth is old and and has gotten pretty docile. :)

This is my 2nd pair, I purchased them because the first pair was so comfortable from the get go and the frist pair was no longer waterproof. Speaking of, the first pair had the metatarsal guard, but that came undone after a few months of wear, so I do not recommend buying those. This pair, just like the first one, was instantly comfortable on my feet and warm enough for temperatures at or below freezing. The only cons are: #1-the loops for your fingers to assist with pulling them on are on the inside of the boot...makes no sense to me, and #2 the elastic at the top is way too tight on my calfs (painful), so I roll the top down and hope that this stretches it over time.

These boots are great for muck, mud and water work however they do run rather large. I wear a 10 but with these I would probably have been better off with a size 9. Definitely recommend however, great product! Edited to 3 stars because these things didnt last 3 months without springing a leak. My current job is in a lot of thick mud and would not recommend for that use, only light shallow mud and water.

I work at the stables and bought these to wear. I noticed not long after wearing them that my left heel was starting to get wet. It progressively got worse and now only after wearing them for two months part time, both feet get completely wet. Someone else at my stable said the same thing about her muck boots which she got a tractor supply store. I think if you pay more and buy them directly from Muck Boots, they have a good warranty. I have to look into that because other than that they are very comfortable but it MUST be waterproof!!!

The description of this item makes it sound like the boots themselves are slip resistant. They are not. The outer coating (top of the boot??) is slip resistant which I cannot fathom a reason why that matters. Regardless, they arent non-skid. If you work on wet concrete youre going to fall. Id change the wording in the description to fix that. Boots very comfortable and look nice though.
