I generally wear minimalist shoes, after having foot and ankle problems, a few years back. Too much padding can cause all sorts of heel and foot pain, while not enough just wears my feet out, so its a balancing act between a firm sole and just enough padding to be comfortable for long periods. Ive slowly shifted my dress and casual shoe buying to thinner-soled, minimally cushioned shoes. I have a pair of Rockport Penny Loafers that are super comfortable, and I spotted these on sale, when I was looking for some casual boots. Like the Penny Loafers, these are much lighter in weight than one would expect. The oiled finish looks great, and the shoes are comfortable for all-day walking. The sole is a lightweight vibram sole (like many minimalist shoes), and the thin insole has just enough padding to be comfortable, not so much that its fatiguing. I dont have a high volume arch, but this boot would work well for someone that does. If the lower eyelets arent laced pretty tight, there is a lot of volume in the boots, but adjusting the lower laces snugs things up enough to be comfortable. The padded collar and tongue are needed at times, but theres just enough padding to be comfortable without looking or feeling ridiculous.

Great casual, waterproof shoes and an awesome price to "boot"! See what I did there :) The sizing is a bit off, so go a 1/2 size down. I normally wear size 11 2E in almost every major casual shoe brand (11.5 in just E), and I purchased 10.5 2E in these Rockport Storm Surge boots. The width is perfect for a 2E, and the toe box width and height are roomy but not fat. The length is just over a size 11 (45.75) I would say. Worked great for me since Im between a 11 and a 11.5. The insole is removable and worth switching out if you have high arches. The only reason I deducted a star is because the collar near the ankle is very rigid, and I does hurt your ankle bones. I laced the boots a little looser up top, and they are slowly softening up with use. The boot itself is very firm, but I think that adds to the durability and the ability to shed water. The rubber is a bit soft and does wear a bit fast on the heel, but I think the compound has to be softer to give you the slip-resistance. For a casual, waterproof boot around $75 - this is a great option for daily wear.

The shoes look real nice and fit well with the size I ordered. I am a size 10.5 D but always ordered size 11 D and it fits well. They are very comfortable to wear and water proof, I wore them in a heavy rain day and my feet were dry. My only concern is the sole seems to wear down faster, particularly in the outside heel. I wore the shoes for a week now and I can see wear. I have own Rockport shoes for the last 4-5 years and this is the first time I can see heel wear in a week.

Im a supervisor at a salt Factory in Milwaukee, so a good pair of boots is very important. I walk on average 5 to 10 miles a day around the factory, so comfort and durability is what I look for in a boot. I have never tried Rockport boots before but I am impressed! They feel like a pair of gym shoes! They are very comfortable and for a waterproof boot they stay nice a cool. These boots are very high quality and I recommend for anyone looking for a boot that performs well in all categories. 5 out of 5

Ive owned these boots for 2 yrs. The good: They are very comfortable, the W (wide) width was a perfect fit. The lugged soles are remarkably cushioning and with the addition of comfort insoles they feel like comfy sneakers. Really nice for rainy season dog walks through muddy fields. The bad: The waterproofing gave out during the first year, but was easy to fix with the application of some grease based water resistant goop. The soles... are very soft and wear very quickly. Absolutely- not suitable for daily work wear. Even though I only wear these shoes during daily 40min dog walks during the CA rainy season(~4months), the soles are nearly gone and the semi-hollow heals are sucking and squirting water at every step. The Ugly: The RATINGS received a "F" grade on Fakespot.com. In other words, most of the reviews are FAKE or at best dubious. Because of that, I will never buy these boots from these resellers again. I suggest you dont either.
