Very light weight. Breathes very well. Not crazy about the pocket for the speed lace setup. Its a pain in the ass because of the way they have it stitched to the tongue of the shoe. Other than that, its a great shoe. I would even consider going to a more traditional tie laces than the speed slider. Easy to do with a pair of scissors...

I dont normally go out of my way to get wide shoes but in this case I would recommend it. They did not have the size available (10M) when I purchased so I decided to give the regular size one a chance and boy did I pay for it. After a mile of walking you feel it and again the next morning. After some trails though many terrains in Cusco/Sacred Valley/Machupicchu I noticed to minimize the strain/tightness you have to stand with the shoelaces loosened, and bare you weight on one shoe, tighten and do the same for the other. This will limit the tightness you feel do to the show being too narrow. I hope this works for you as it does for me cause they are not bad shoes, just narrow. It doesnt completely get rid of the pain but it minimizes it so you dont feel it the next morning.

For me, Salomon makes the best damn outdoor shoes. I really like the way they fit. Im a truck driver and I am in and out of the truck all the time in various weather conditions and walking on different grades. So these really do well in most conditions. Obviously, they are not intended to be work boots but if you are a construction worker you should be looking at Irish Setters instead of tennis shoes. I can get about two years out of these but I wear them all the time. Thats pretty good for me. I used to go through Nike and New Balance within months. So yeah, give them a try.

Nice looking, well-built shoe/boot, but it does not fit me well. Heel rides up in the back as I walk. I ordered (again) the Merrell MOAB GTX shoe, as I have had 2 pairs of these in the past 10 years and they fit me like a glove. Just thought I would try these Solomons based on a review I had read. Ill stick with the Merrell MOAB II GTX shoe as I think it is absolutely the best shoe of this type on the market. The MOAB fits immediately with no break-in, wears like iron and provides excellent footing while walking in all types of environments. Do yourself a favor and look at it and try it.

Full disclosure, I already own a pair of Salomon Mens Quest 4d 3 GTX Backpacking Boots. They are awesome but overkill for Frisbee with my dog on a dew laden field. I took these out this morning and they are champs. The grass was soaked and my feet were dry. Im a size 7M and I couldnt be happier with this shoe. They fit well. The traction and support is way better (and drier) than any cross trainer. The jury is still out on the funky lacing system but so far, so good and I can always convert to traditional laces, if needed.
