Love the look of the boots. They havent fully broken in yet but I can tell they are going to be very comfortable once they do with the amount theyve broken in already. Havent put them through the winter months or weather yet to comment on how well they do in those conditions, but I dont see why they wouldnt handle it well. People seem to have a lot of issues with the sizing. I have some Eccos that fit perfect and so I translated their size to American and it worked fine. They showed up with what appeared to be minor cosmetic damage but nothing that the boots wont get over the course of a day and Thursday was good about making it right. So far really loving them.

I am truly impressed with my purchase of the Thursday Captain boots. Based on the many reviews I saw of these exact boots, I wanted to give them a try first hand. Overall, the construction of the boot is great. Straight out of the box, the leather did have an almost stiff, cheap feeling to them, but once I conditioned them a couple times and wore them for a month or two, they began to soften, and they now feel soft to the touch. The leather quality is quite good, and the overall construction is impressive with its nice leather lining, thick laces, and rubber sole. The rubber soles have amazing grip of course but I found that the rubber itself is a bit softer than actual Danite. Because they stick to most services so well, I joke around and say that I could play basketball in my Thursday’s, if in fact I could play basketball, but that’s what these boots remind me of, a pair of athletic sneakers. However, being the rubber is softer I worry it might wear down faster or wear unevenly but I guess only time will tell. I personally prefer Danite as it tends to have a nice step sound despite being a rubber sole. The reason I didn’t give these boots five stars is because there was one aspect of the boot I didn’t like. I wasn’t too fond of the AV insole. First off, I don’t like the alignment of it. The raised part sits not on the arch of the foot but on the outer part of the foot, from about the mid-foot to the heel. This makes me feel a bit slanted forward and creates an unnatural spring in my step. The boots are comfortable but because they wear so differently, the sole serves as a constant reminder that something is off. In the end, I love my Thursday boots and I am constantly recommending them. If you only have $200 or so to spend on a good pair of gentlemen’s boots, then definitely buy these. These are great all-around boots, a bit dressy but casual enough to go well with different attire, especially being their brown boots are so dark. They’re great for adverse weather and I find myself wearing these far more than say, my Iron Rangers. In fact, if I could only keep one I would keep my Thursdays for their versatility and style.

Im disappointed in the quality of these boots it didnt hold for to long, now I have to take to a shoemaker to replace the sole, should not happen so fast for a quality $200 boot.

Love them so far. Ive scuffed them up pretty bad (I guess Im not too careful with the way I handle my shoes) but most everything, even the deeper stuff, has come out pretty good with some leather honey. Break in was a little rough on the feet, but pretty short. Now Im looking for excuses and matching pants to wear my boots as often as possible.
