****UPDATE 6th pair **** Every pair has blown out in the same place that you see in all the review photos. EVERY TIME. Husband works for USPS warehouse and walks a LOT (30k steps a night on heavy night). These will only has 3.5 months. He walks a lot, blow outs are always in the same place. ALWAYS. ***UPDATE on 4th pair*** 5 weeks use and blow out on both sides of show. Less mileage put into this pair. Return date is 4 weeks... and missed it by 1 week. Complete disappointment on this pair. $38 is a good deal, if you get more than 5 weeks use. Previously averaging 3 - 5 months use out of each previous pair. My husband works as a mail handler for the usps (averaging 20k steps a shift). These shoes have outstanding wear and comfort...averaging him 4 months use per pair.

Every time I have found a comfortable and durable work shoe, the company will discontinue the model, ie., Rockport, Nike, Dr. Scholls and even the Walmart Tread-safe. I really didnt expect much from these Skechers for Work Mens Felton Slip Resistant Relaxed-Fit Work Shoe, but they appeared to be well built so I decided they were worth a try. The first pair were extremely comfortable and built well, and didnt slip on a oily, dirty, greasy auto shop floor. However, they developed a knot or some such at my little toe and were causing some discomfort and redness. Second pair even better, I found a new winner and hope the company continues to make them. I work in an automotive repair shop and demand, lightweight, durability and non-slip, and above all, comfort.

I just ordered a replacement for a pair that I wore until they were completely wrecked. (For several years, but not daily wear.) I really like them. I play in bands, which means standing for 5-6 hours in a typical bar environment, and loading equipment in and out. Nonslip soles are great where the floors might have spilled beer, but sometimes a little annoying for dancing and pretending to have fun. I play fairly regularly, and at some point they also became my goto shoe for the elliptical machine; the flat soles with square sides are good for that, but the waterproof construction means they definitely dont breathe. :) The foam insoles are dense and comfortable, and good for extended standing and walking. Its not a super-long-lasting shoe. Ultimately the memory foam/gel insole is going to be the first thing to fail in any memory foam work shoe, and I get the idea Sketchers designed the rest of the shoe with this in mind. Once the insoles lose their squish, it isnt too long before the sides fail. If your plan is to add inserts and keep replacing them until the tread is gone, these are not your shoes. Fit: I am a mens 10-wide, and the standard "wide relaxed fit" 10 fits perfectly. I do not need the extra wide, and there is adequate toe room. I also have collapsed arches, and there is enough material under the arches. A very comfortable fit. So, theyre not a super-long-wearing shoe, but the comfort and performance is very high while it lasts.

I read where other review talk about the fact these shoes dont always last very long. This is my second pair. The other ones, a predecessor to this particular shoe model, lasted about 1.5 years. I walk my dogs 4 miles a day. I stand at work 5 hours a day before sitting the afternoons. So I give my shoes a pretty good workout. I think the first pair lasted pretty well. And these two pairs are the ONLY pairs of shoes I have ever ordered online that fit right the first time! I have an extra wide foot and these wide shoes are wonderful, maybe even a bit too wide, but that is okay. I plan to buy another pair when these wear out. For the cost these are excellent shoes.

Wow, I got these for working on my car in my concrete floor garage. I got tired of banging up my nice shoes. Turns out, they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own now (and I own a LOT of shoes). I wore them to Kings Dominion and was on my feet ALL day. My back felt fine when I was done. Any of my other shoes would have only supported my back for a few hours there. So, I need another pair now to keep clean and wear everywhere else outside of the garage and yard work. Good thing is they are all black and look like leather, so I can wear them out and about.
