I wear out the outside of my heel if the heel material isnt really durable. I havent had these too long, but it is wearing out too early. Took 3 days to break in, and laces broke too soon. The grommets are sharp on the inside which cut the laces that came with them. They could make them a little better. Soles wear out WAY TOO quickly! Update 12 12 2015: terrible quality-DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING-they dont last. The soles are almost gone. Ive worn other shoes for over a year and they lasted way better. DO NOT BUY THESE!

Fits a tad wider than expected, which isnt too bad. After a while, the shoelaces started to fray, and I had to replace them. Also, the insoles are now loose. Minor annoyances that can easily be replaced. Still a good buy. Recommended. After some months, the shoes have completely fallen apart. The heels were tearing off. The shoelaces both ripped and had to be replaced, then started to rip again (Im thinking it had something to do with the holes). Speaking of holes, the sides started ripping and leaving holes where the base meets the "leather". The material was very easy to tear; the slightest graze would leave marks on the surface. The insoles separated from the inside of the shoe and would slide around. There was a metal bar underneath the insole; that came up and also started to slide around. Had to toss them. They were bet9nd repair. I have a desk job, so its not like I even did that much to ruin them. I guess you get what you pay for... Recommended if you need a cheap dress shoe that you only need to wear a few times, or lasts until you make enough to buy a better shoe.

I had been buying these same shoes for years, as I found them to be comfortable and last a long time. In the past year, however, something changed dramatically. The shoes were lasting a few weeks, at most. As others have also reported, they would develop cracks in the heel, the upper would separate from the lower, the insole would press right through into the back of heel, warping the heel. The company sent me a replacement pair, those were defective before I ever put them on (the heel was separating). They sent another replacement. Those lasted a few months of occasional use, and now have the same problem. The company refuses to do anything more.

My experience with this product is similar to many other reviewers. The shoes looked good and fit acceptably, though somewhat narrow. Within about 6-8 weeks, the left heel had ripped apart and they were no longer wearable. The return window had already passed and I could not find any evidence of a guarantee. So the purchase price was wasted on a throw-away. If you were to judge by the quality of the shoes, a fair price would be about eight bucks...yard sale territory. Companies do this more and more: they charge premium prices for inferior products. In some cases, the price was originally higher because the product used to be higher quality. Then the company swaps out inferior (and often foreign-made, for what its worth) goods and keeps the high price, so that they make a bigger profit. This unethical, immoral behavior hurts American consumers who are already gouged by excessive cellphone, car prices, Internet access, and so on. If you want to sell cheap shoes, fine, label them as such and charge an accurate price. What they are trying to sell this for makes absolutely no sense in terms of what you get in return. Dockers is abusing their own good name for short-term profiteering. Their sales will fall in the long run if they continue. I will not buy another pair of shoes from them, since they basically stole this money from me and gave me unusable junk. I bought a pair of Sketchers instead and donated these to the local charity bin, though they probably belonged in the dumpster.

Ive owned this exact same pair of shoes in brown for several years of day-to-day use. I liked them so much that when it was time for some new black oxfords, I decided to buy the same shoe. That was a mistake. While they look and fit just as well as the old ones, the construction quality has obviously declined. Within the first couple months (outside the manufacturer warranty and Amazon return window, of course) the air cushions in both shoes have burst. Every step is accompanies by a loud rush of air from the soles. My older brown ones are still going strong. My advice: Steer clear unless they bring their quality back up.
