It is simply not brown. When I received it I sent it back very quickly due to the crazy red tint. Just be warned the dark brown is not dark brown. The stitching is strange. Not really great for formal attire. Very unsure of this company. Order 1 size smaller than your normal shoe and hope youre lucky. Also dont get brown unless you like a strong reddish vibe.

Great quality shoe...would have given 5 star, but they have a very strong "chemical" smell---similar to gasoline. Actually, a co-worker actually thought I wasted some gasoline on my clothing when I first wore them. However, you simply cant beat that price for the quality and durability of the shoe. The smell has started to diminish over time and the shoes still look great.

4 stars due to the smell of the shoe when delivered. You will need to unpack these shoes and let them air out for a few days before wearing as the smell that they give off is very potent. Update 10/27/2016 I have owned these shoes for almost a year now and have worn them around 20 times. They have also been left outside of the box for the whole time I have owned them...they still smell horrible. You will not be able to wear these shoes in any office environment as the smell is far too strong and you will either get a headache from it or your co-workers will complain and ask what the horrible smell is. Sure, they do look great, but the smell is one that cannot be masked. I have tried inserts, cologne, Axe spray, arm and hammer baking soda...I have tried it all and they still smell like I soaked them in gasoline for a few hours.

I got these (one of the black and white, two of the black) for my sons who needed black dress shoes for chorus and other dressy occasions, and I didnt want to spend more than I needed to given that they outgrow their shoes so often. However, the shoes still fit after six months and they like them, so I thought Id write a review. (1) The smell. It was unmissable when the shoes were new, but it did go away -- took more than a day, but it seems to me that it wasnt noticeable any more after a month. (2) The durability. These things have held up and they still look nice. Granted theyre not getting daily wear, but theyve still had a number of outings and the boys arent what you would call easy on shoes, so Ive been pleasantly surprised by how good the shoes continue to look. (3) Comfort. They were a tight at first but that was mainly that the boys hadnt loosened the laces, and after a wearing or two they found them quite comfortable and will wear them voluntarily where suitable. So I would buy these again (and Ill probably have to because those feet keep growing) and have suggested that my husband consider them the next time he needs dress shoes.

These shoes are the best value youre going to find. I have 3 pairs now in different colors, and every time I wear a pair I get countless compliments and friends asking where I got them. After I tell them where, they ask how much - then theyre sold. I like them because they are comfortable, timeless, and affordable. If you tried to buy wood soled leather shoes elsewhere youd spend triple, so why not buy a few pairs of these look a likes that wear the same. I walk miles a day and they are comfortable straight out of the box, you just need to let them air out because the chemical smell is no joke. The smells lessens after an hour or so and then they smell like fresh leather.
