Extra wide REALLY IS extra wide! In reality, I commend Rockport for making shoes large enough to fit. The fact that I returned these for a narrower size is my responsibility. Its just that I have always found it difficult to find shoes wide enough. So, I naturally figured XW would be the right choice. Aside from width, the length was the other issue. A 13 is somewhat long but a 12 would definitely be too small. Sure wish half sizes in the larger shoes was offered. Any, this will be the second pair of Rockport Margins I have owned and I do really like them. The style is a bit muted but the comfort and durability is exceptional. ( Ive worn most of the lettering off the inside of the tongues on the first pair, hence was not certain what size those were. ). However, the rest of the shoes are holding up amazingly well.

Feel much better than I thought they would considering the materials used for the sole. So far, I would buy them again. Update: It has been a couple months and I was forced to replace the insole. The insole is some sort of strange rubber-like material, but my feet did not like it and my feet began to hurt after a couple weeks. I purchased $12 replacement insoles at a local retail store and everything is fine now. The leather is holding up well, but I do take the effort to keep them clean.

This was my "go-to" dress shoe. Same size; same style. Over the years probably owned six pairs. Quality and fit was predicable and never disappointed. Im not fussy. I look for shoes that are comfortable and Im good until the next pair. Something changed. Fit is poor; comfort level is terrible. Wore them daily for a month and gave up. Plenty of time to break-in. Relegated to the back of the closet. To late to return. Wrote off as bad purchase and learned from the experience.

Cant say enough about these. Heavy duty leather but not stiff. This is my second pair. Bought this new pair because Im having my first pair re-heeled, had them about 3 years, upper is still perfect, and sole is in good condition. Quality stitching. Before buying my first pair I went to a very high end store and bought a pair of Cole-Hanns, $325. They fell apart in 6 months, took them back, then gave the Rockports a try. These are great dress shoes, lightweight, sturdy, comfortable, I wear them all day. Keeps a shine. Recommended.

i wear these at my office, on visits to airports for site visits which require a lot of walking and to other functions. They are versatile and look great with jeans or a suit. I just replaced my pair after 7 years since the heel is rounding out on outer edge due to my pronation, supination....whatever. As you can see from photos of old and brand new shoe, other then the heel (which is no fault of the shoe) the sole wore very well and evenly. Also, the inside and body of the shoe stayed in great shape. Highly recommended shoe. Not the cheapest shoe but well worth it in the long term.
