Layering is a stylist's ultimate secret. It isn't just about staying warm in changeable weather; it's an opportunity to make your look complex and interesting. But how do you combine items without adding extra visual pounds?
Here are the three golden rules of layering:
- From Thin to Thick. This is the foundation. The first layer should be the thinnest (T-shirt, silk camisole), the second denser (shirt, turtleneck), and the third the heaviest (blazer, cardigan, coat). Never wear a thick sweater under a thin jacket.
- Play with Textures. An outfit looks expensive when you mix different materials. Chunky knits + smooth leather, light chiffon + denim, wool + satin. The contrast of materials catches the eye.
- Keep Every Layer Visible. Don't hide items completely. Let the shirt collar peek out from under the sweater, or the T-shirt show from under an unbuttoned blazer. This creates vertical lines that visually elongate the silhouette.
Try combining a turtleneck from our new collection with an oversized shirt — it’s a ready-made trendy look in just one minute!
Visualization Idea: A "half-portrait" photo (waist-up). The model is wearing three layers:
- A thin white turtleneck.
- A blue shirt (unbuttoned at the top).
- A beige trench coat or blazer draped over the shoulders. Focus the camera on the neck and chest area to clearly show the difference in textures and colors.
