This belt was perfect with a plain black biddy suit. It just the appropriate amount of sexiness. I purchased a medium. My waist is 33 inches. Im 52 And with 178.

A nice belt for costumes does run true to size but be warned will roll up on the sides and back if you have a waist thats smaller than your bust and hips.

The elastic overtime will develop folds to mach any rolls in your sides, and even though the elastic stretches great, the snaps are too weak, so that it can barely stretch before the snaps pop open. Other than those things, I enjoy this! I wanted to get a basic waist cincher esc belt to use in my renaissance festival costumes (mostly for a specific garnment) before I invested in a corset. it does the job fine, but be prepared to iron it after each wear, and for it not be able to stretch far.

I love the way this waist corset looks! I was a little worried it would look cheap, but its not! The leather feels nice and smooth and Its well made. I am 57 and 245lbs, when buying clothing on Amazon I am either between a 2x or a 3x. I didnt want this to be cinching my waist too much so I ordered the 3x. Its a little bigger than I would like, but I can work with it. In hindsight I would have ordered the 2x and it would have fit perfectly.

I just received this and its a lot stretchier than I was expecting. It fits PERFECTLY, but Im wondering if the excess stretch will be a bad thing if I lose weight. I guess I could take it in myself if I have to. I was considering returning it for a small, but small would be harder to adjust if its TOO small/tight. Im still on the fence about what I should do, but its amazing quality.
