I bought these sunglasses so I could read outdoors. Granted, Ive only been able to give these a limited test drive but my initial impression is: 1. Very impressive and functional hard case. Not for tucking in a purse or pocket but perfect for a beach bag. 2. The look is high end, sophisticated and downright cool with tortoise shell components. 3. They feel a tiny bit flimsy although Im impressed with how the parts are put together. 4. The side pieces have good spring-back so they should be comfortable more most people. Unfortunately, this might be the first part to bite the dust because of repetitive use. NOW, can you see through them? I wear progressive lenses, about 2.5 magnification. When I first put them on, I couldnt very clearly. However, since Im used to correction in the upper part of my lens as well, I suppose its too much to expect clear vision looking straight ahead. It took a little practice to find the head position and "sweet spot" to enable me to read. The corrected portion of the lens is just the lower inner portion of the lens. While I can read just fine with these glasses, the non-corrected portion tends to be a little distracting, something I suspect I can get used to. These are also likely to be easier to adjust to for bifocal users. At this point, the "coolness factor" is enough to keep me from running to a pair of readers.
