I have worn a similar-shaped pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for a while now, and was looking for a cheaper bifocal option vs. plunking down a large amount of cash for a bifocal Maui Jim version. These sunglasses fit just as well as the Maui Jim’s, aren’t too dark or too light, and the placement of the 1.5x portion of the lens is just low enough to assist you with reading outside and don’t get in the way of whatever you may be trying to do outside. They have become my go-to sunglasses, especially while reading outside, and my Maui Jims are starting to gather dust. I liked them so much I have purchased a second pair – one to keep exclusively while I am driving and another pair for when I am outside at home. Needless to say, I really like these sunglasses and think they are quite a bargain in comparison to Maui Jim’s version. Save your money and purchase one of these as both you and your wallet will appreciate it.

Looking cool even when I am not....cool that is. I dont always have to wear readers when in the sun, the extra light is usually good enough. But when the page is shiny or the print is small or when the light is very bright, sunglass readers are a godsend. Especially at the beach, when you want to keep the bright sun and the sand out of your eyes when you read. These look pretty much like a pair of high fashion sunglasses, the type people pay too much money for. Like $200 too much for. Lightweight, stylish and they fit nicely (and I have a big head. Some would even say a "swelled head"). The magnification part is pretty much invisible except to the wearer. Yes, the viewing/magnification area is a little small but just perfect for reading a book. Maybe not for staring as a large computer screen, but why on earth youd want to do that is beyond me. Certainly you can read the screen on your smartphone. They also come with a bonus cleaning cloth, all at a very reasonable price point. So, maybe I am not cool, but at least my sunglasses are!

I bought these sunglasses so I could read outdoors. Granted, Ive only been able to give these a limited test drive but my initial impression is: 1. Very impressive and functional hard case. Not for tucking in a purse or pocket but perfect for a beach bag. 2. The look is high end, sophisticated and downright cool with tortoise shell components. 3. They feel a tiny bit flimsy although Im impressed with how the parts are put together. 4. The side pieces have good spring-back so they should be comfortable more most people. Unfortunately, this might be the first part to bite the dust because of repetitive use. NOW, can you see through them? I wear progressive lenses, about 2.5 magnification. When I first put them on, I couldnt very clearly. However, since Im used to correction in the upper part of my lens as well, I suppose its too much to expect clear vision looking straight ahead. It took a little practice to find the head position and "sweet spot" to enable me to read. The corrected portion of the lens is just the lower inner portion of the lens. While I can read just fine with these glasses, the non-corrected portion tends to be a little distracting, something I suspect I can get used to. These are also likely to be easier to adjust to for bifocal users. At this point, the "coolness factor" is enough to keep me from running to a pair of readers.

These bi-focal sunglasses are great! The fit is very good, they cover all around my eyes, they are comfortable and I can now read small print again while wearing sunglasses! Is the quality as good as my beloved Ray Ban sunglasses? No. These cost 1/4th what I paid for my Ray Bans! Im not sure how well plastic lenses will hold up, however I believe if I take care of them, they will last for years to come. These also come with a nice hard shell carrying case, which is handy to protect the sunglasses. Highly recommend these for an inexpensive bifocal set of sunglasses.

I dont mind spending money on shades and typically buy Smith, Ray Ban, Dragon, Native, VonZipper etc. Getting to that age where my reading vision is starting to go and I was looking for a way to read on the deck without having to wear two pairs of glasses. I found these things and was not expecting too much. But it turns out that they are a heck of a value. As someone commented, they are plastic, and that makes them seem a bit cheap, but a lot of shades that cost way more are also plastic these days. They are light weight, look great, have a decent polarized gray lense, and the built in bifocal works great for reading. And they come with a pretty nice hard case and cleaning cloth. I was pleasantly surprised with the qulaity and the value.
