Ray Ban RB2140 Original Wayfarer

Tried the RB2132 (new) 52 & RB2140 (original) 50 because there were both the smaller versions of the new and original wayfarers. First off, still giving these glasses 4 stars because they look and feel great. The original wayfarers look and feel a bit more heavy duty than the new version so I preferred the 50s. I have a narrow, kind of long face so I have an extremely difficult time with sunglasses. Have not found a single pair that are narrow/small enough for me. The 52s look OK, a little too small for me heigh-wise since I have large eyes, so I passed on those. I love the 50s...the look, the feel...almost everything is pefect except they are too wide ): I was going to keep the 50s anyway since my BF said they looked cool; however, I showed them to my mom and she told they were just too wide for my face. Ended up returning both, but still highly recommend these if youre looking for a cool pair of sunnies and are lucky enough to have them fit your face properly. I also love that the tortoise color is really dark, almost black. The lenses are also really dark....if only they fit me properly. Still on the hunt for a pair of sunglasses that fit me just right.

I am conflicted because they looked very nice on and when I checked the authenticity, I just watched some youtube videos and looked at images to see if they were real, and they seemed to passed. But when I purchased the same pair directly from Ray-Ban, they looked really different. The amazon pair had a much more "faded" etched RB on the lens and the boxes looked slightly off. Maybe the amazons are just old? They seemed used when they came like many people had tried them on prior to me and the box was slightly beaten. I had to return them though just because I wasnt to sure about the authenticity. I did buy them directly from Amazon and not some 3rd party seller.

Im going to keep these shades, as they look great, the lenses are clean and unscratched, and they fit perfectly. But I bought them thinking I was getting a brand new pair. Clearly these were previously used, set on display and handled a lot, or badly packaged, because there are a number of minor scuffs on the arms around the curves for the ears. Also, the hinges are solid except for a tiny fraction of the range of extension just prior to being fully extended; so there is just a tiny amount of play in the arms prior to being fully extended. This doesnt affect fit, as the shape of the wayfarer plastic is designed to prevent overextended arms, and the hingers are still tight, but it does make the hinges seem a little less than perfect, which is what I expect in a brand new pair of Ray Bans. Overall, Im satisfied with this purchase given the great price, but just barely.

These are NOT at all like the original Wayfarers, so Im only giving them 4 stars, the tortoiseshell pattern looks completely off, and the sides are solid black rather than tortoiseshell, which I knew from looking at the photo, but its rather odd when you see them. Theyre fine, but the tortoiseshell pattern is not at all the same on these. I have other Ray-Ban products that are tortoiseshell that seem fine, but not these, so who knows?

Bought these as a replacement for a set I purchased from LensCrafters that were never right. One arm did not sit flush against the frame and I just never got the time to take them back and then it was too late. Anyway, bought these and swapped my old scrip lenses into them, tough but doable, and they are what I was wanting to begin with. Ive always liked RayBans and this traditional frame is comfortable and these are just what the doctor ordered. Purchase from Amazon easy as usual and shipping was quick. If youre looking for the traditional style, then these RayBans are the ones to go with.
