I have bought this brand for years and always the same style...something had happened in the quality of this product. The fabric is thinner than it used to be, the fabric is looser and there is a white streak that runs down the seam on my inner thigh. What used to be a wonderful product, has turned into something I will never buy again and will probably donate instead of wear

The jeans fit great, feel great, but had a terrible chemical odor when I took them out of the plastic. I washed and dried them. Still had some of the odor but seemed to be faint. I wore them to work and while I was sitting at my desk the odor got stronger. As long as I was moving it faded, but when I would sit back down it would "waif" up at me. After 1 hour of sitting it was burning my nose and eyes. NO KIDDING. I could not figure out what it was. I was prepared to send them back but instead I hung them outside on the line in the sun yesterday and today it rained on them. If after a couple days outside and another washing they are not wearable they will be going back. Never had an experience like this with clothes bought on line before. Will update this review in a few days when they come back inside.

EDIT: I LIKE THEM SO MUCH, I just ordered a second pair while theyre on sale! ___________________ I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING...for a replacement to the Amanda STRAIGHT LEG (theyre TAPERED now) jeans by Gloria Vanderbilt. Finding a great-fitting, high-waisted pair of jeans seems like finding a pearl in an oyster...only harder. I read the reviews and wasnt sure WHAT to expect. You dont know til you try them on. They just arrived, I quickly tried them and they are comparable in fit and style to the old straight leg Amandas I bought for years. I may even like them better! The legs fit just a tad tighter than the Amandas but they are still straight leg (I like to wear with ankle boots with the boots in the INSIDE of the jeans). I wear with boots with a two inch heel and these seem perfect without hemming. (I am 54" and got the 8, I weigh about 153-155).. I am in my sixties and like a high waist, a jean that pulls you in a bit (yay, spandex!) and the bit of stretch these have, I find flattering. So if youre looking for something flattering and not interested in the skinny, low cut jeans, yet dont want jeans that look like baggy old lady jeans, these might work well :-).

Hard to fit a short chubby old lady like myself, but these do it just right. Im very pleased not to have to hem the legs and like the fact that the pants breathe when I do. I recommend these jeans.

I absolutely love these jeans. The material is soft, and not heavy. They fit well, due likely to the 1% spandex which "gives" a little. Their waistline is at the waistline, which is my biggest complaint about other jeans which ride way too low. They fit well, not loose as so many "relaxed" jeans do. Above there are a few complants about mothball smell, and someone states that they are made in Kenya and shipped in mothballs. Not mine, so dont know if that is old info. Mine are made in Egypt, and there is absolutely no odor. I will be ordering more of these jeans assuming they hold up well at all. I have the medium length 12, with the 30" inseams. They are perfect. A sleek straight leg at the perfect length. I stand about 56 1/2 or 5/7, and these require no cuff up, and are not short. I love them, and want to replace all my other ill fitting for one reason or another with these. The price is pretty right, as well.
