I give this bag 3 stars and it has definite quality-control issues for hardware and the lining, detailed below. But Im here anyway, buying a replacement for the one I ran into the ground, because Ive yet to find a crossbody that fits my needs as perfectly as this one did. My two gripes with this bag: 1. The outside zipper tab broke in half the first time I wore the purse out of the house. This happened at the airport as I was about to board an international flight, and this was the only purse Id brought because of its functionality. So to have a broken zipper right at the start of my trip was eyeroll-inducing. But I could still pull what was left of the tab easily enough to have access to the pocket, so I didnt consider it a total dealbreaker. (Another reviewer from April 2018 posted a photo of the exact same zipper failure, so its definitely a quality control issue.) 2. The lining tore. And tore. And tore. I thought I was losing my mind - didnt I put my chapstick in this pocket? Whered my pen go? I know I had some loose change here somewhere. Well, the first hole I discovered was the teeny pocket on the inside, so no more storing lippies in that. Then I found a hole in the interior main compartment, on the bottom, so that explains my pens and coins. And there was another hole whose origin I could never quite figure out, despite turning the lining inside out every way imaginable to get to the credit card that had become trapped. At that point, I decided it was time to let my daughters have my purse for their dress-up bin. Again, this seems to be a common complaint amongst reviewers, so its another QC issue that should be considered. But Im back here buying another one anyway. I did love this bag despite its faults. It held up very well on my 2-week trip (its intended purpose), being hauled from planes to trains and all stops in between. I was rough on the poor thing, but it soldiered through. Once I was back home, I never transferred anything back to my normal purse, and this became my daily bag for a solid 4-5 months before the lining became too much of an issue to continue using it. I never had the color transfer problems that other reviewers have mentioned, but I believe them; mine didnt bleed despite getting caught in rain and summer back sweat - clearly your mileage may vary. It holds way more than I expected it to. Although my standard wallet didnt fit, a slim coin purse with all my cards, cash and coins made an acceptable substitute. Add to that: sunglasses, powder compact, lip products (a couple glosses and a chapstick), pens, passport holder, a pack of cigarettes (I know, shut up) and lighters, scrap paper that Im constantly accumulating, keyring (which ok, is only my house key and car keyfob), work badge with its keys, travel pack of tissues, and I kid you not, a can of soda if I took out the shades and squished it in there. Plus stuff my kids would stow away, so factor in the occasional matchbox car or pacifier or sock. So for the current price of about $16 (which is what I paid originally as well), its worth the known risks for me to purchase again. I know better than to expect more than 6 months combined regular use, and for this price, as functional as it is before it falls apart, Im okay with that.
