I was really excited to get these boots as Ive always liked doc martens and always wanted a pair. the boots look great and the vegan leather is sleek. but there is one major issue that I want to warn future buyers about before spending close to $100 on a pair of boots. the quality of this shoe is terrible, i owned them for a groundbreaking 5 days before they were damaged by something as simple as leaving them in a car overnight after a short 2 day camping trip. the next day after getting back from my trip i went back to the car to pick up the docs alongside 2 other pairs of shoes and a bag of food i had forgotten about. To my amazement these $90 boots had a long thread of melted material coming from the sole of the right boot, enough to leave a sizable and noticeable indent in the front of the boot. this was literally only after 5 days of receiving the doc martens, I had 2 other pairs of shoes that were not damaged at all and fruits that didnt even go bad, yet. my $90 doc martens were damaged. I emailed the doc martens support team in hopes of getting a refund, or maybe a new pair if offered if i sent these back. i was only met with a half-assed warranty claim that doc martens only offers warranty for manufacturer’s defects and factory errors, but not for natural wear/tear, worn down soles, fit or comfort, so i can send them in for "inspection" but theyd just be sent back if there were no manufacture errors. normally id understand this and would move on with no fuss but Ive never in my life have had a pair of shoes that melt under moderate heat, as a matter of fact Ive never had a pair of shoes melt ever! there were bananas in the car that came out just fine yet these shoes didnt, i wouldnt recommend these shoes to anybody that so much as walks out on concrete on a hot day unless theyd want to fuse to the floor from the sole melting.

My kid loves them! Were vegan, so we were glad for the option. He hasnt had them long so we have yet to see how theyll stand the test of time. I love docs, theyve always been great, so were hopeful. Edit: (06-05-19) Not even a year and a half later did these boots last. Under normal use and wear the back of one of the boots has completely torn. The sole of the shoe is falling off and the seam is torn. Docs are supposed to last longer than a year and a half! Quite unsatisfied with this occurrence.

I love these shoes. I wasnt sure what to expect quality & comfort wise in comparison to the OG 1460s , but I have absolutely no complaints with these. There are a few differences between the models, ( laces , eyelets, tounge ) are the first that come to mind, and ive actually grown to prefer the changes. I Like the thin laces, and how I can tuck the longer tongue into the laces. The material is also much thinner than the leather ,which I find more comftorable to wear. The break in time is much less tortuous than the stiff leather pairs, but I would recommend ordering the insoles because without them your feet are likely to ache after a long day of wear. I do wish DM would include them with purchase, to sell a boot without insoles is strange. Quality has been great so far, caught a couple scuffs but so do the leathers, and they respond well to wonderbalm as well. The real test will come with time, and how they hold up over the YEARS, but I cant speak on that yet. Also curious to see how they do in cold weather and warmth retention, ive heard mixed things so well see. Overall, so glad Doc Marten has vegan shoes, I hope they continue to expand the line, and yes I can def recommend these shoes!

I was worried about these boots, because they had so many mixed reviews. But Im actually very happy with them . I tried on the leather version at the mall to compare the size to this one. Im normally a 7 1/2, and since they dont come in half sizes I ordered them in a size 7. Theyre pretty comfortable, and I didnt get any blisters yet. Maybe because I wore them with running socks that have cushion on the back ankle.

Im an 8.5, but since these do not have half sizes I ordered the 8 size as recommended by most people saying they give in and adjust.....after months of "training" and a couple of visits to cobblers the fit is still way to small to be comfortable for long periods. Go a size up if you are a half-size, my wife did that with her pair and she makes fun of me all the time...lesson learned.
