"Wide calf" is relative. Im plus-sized and had to alter these boots to add an elastic gusset to get them to fit. For the price, though, I cant complain. (Use a leather needle and upholstery fabric... and a heavy duty machine. It was like sewing through quilters cotton once I had all of those.)

Purchased these boots for a 1960s themed party and they worked out great. Size fit good - I wear 8M. I wore them for a little over 4 hours, and half of that time I was sitting, but I didnt have any issues with these boots - no pinching, not tight, and certainly not uncomfortable. They were great for the purpose that I needed them for and I think I can use them again for a few more parties in the future. NOTE: this review is based on having worn these boots 1 time only. Well have to see how they hold up for future events. Definitely not something I would consider wearing on a regular basis, but I suppose one could if they are so inclined.

I am not even five feet tall and have child sized Appendages. My foot fit the boot just fine, but I couldn’t zip these up apast my ankle bone.

I am not a large girl, petite, actually, and I could not for the life of me, get these boots zipped up around my calf. The are much too tight.

The shoe fit was good. However, this boot says wide calf. That is not true. Though I was able to zip them up, they were extremely tight. I do believe I have normal size calves. However, I would not have been able to zip them if I wore them over leggings or pants. We bought them for a performance. Others who bought them also had the same problem. Some just wore them not completely zippered.
