First off, yes these are womens hiking boots. I bought them a half-size larger, to ensure that my thicker hiking socks did not make the boots too tight, and give my toes some wiggle-room. I wear them for all-day volunteer shifts out on Californias Channel Islands, which are rocky and have uneven terrain in some areas. The boots keep my feet comfortable and enable me to be on my feet for long periods and hike several miles with no problems. You cant go wrong with the Merrell brand, this is my 3rd pair over the past 10 years.

I bought Merrell hiking shoes last year and they were great, so I got a spare pair. As expected, I like them just as well. Good fit, good support, quite comfortable from the get-go. Neither pair shows signs of wear as yet.

I had a pair of the Moabs in size 11 which were great. I basically wore them out (and the dog chewed them to shreds). I couldnt get the exact same ones so I tried these. Theyre cheaper and even better. Love these shoes. I use them for walking the dog, gardening and hiking. Merrell shoes always fit my big feet great!

Love these shoes. True to size, perfect for a narrow foot. Arch support is so good, I dont even have to replace insole with my own insert. They are hiking shoes and are perfect for muddy conditions and irregular rocky surface because of the knobby tread but be careful on smooth hard surfaces, they are slick.

Sometimes buying boots without trying them on first can be a gamble. In this case I was very lucky. These fit me perfectly and are very comfortable. The first thing I did with these was to take a moderate 1.4 mile hike at the Fults Hill Prairie Nature Preserve. These boots performed very well, The soles provided good traction. These boots provide good arch support and are very comfortable. They are lightweight but they do not feel flimsy or cheap. I am very pleased with these boots.
