This review is specifically for the navy blue color. I have a few pairs of this shoe in various colors and love all the other colors. However, the blue dye rubs right off of these. The white soles actually get stained blue from occasionally rubbing against the leather upper as you walk. Blue dye also comes right off on a cleaning rag. Im going to check Cole Haan for a warranty replacement.

I bought the tan and navy blue leather ones. The leather feels good and the shoes are comfortable. Both pairs do crease but thats normal with leather and it doesnt look unseemly. Some of the other reviews talk about the blue leather ones rubbing off and discoloring. I havent experienced this after wearing them almost every day in very hot/humid weather as well as rainy northeast autumn. I also have not needed to polish them. What I can say is that the sizing on these shoes is vastly different from the same size tan leather ones. The tan leather ones fit great. I loved them and ordered the navy blue leather. Unfortunately, I just kept them in the box past the return date w/o trying them on because they were the same size as the tan ones. When I finally put them on and went out, I realized that they are much much bigger. I actually have 2 insoles and a heel cup placed in the navy leather 11Ws while the tan 11Ws have no insoles or anything. Other than that, they are great shoes and both the tan and navy have been rugged enough to handle my abusive daily commute. I also have 2 of the woolen pairs. One I havent worn at all and the navy woolen pair does have a problem being too high and cutting into the back of my ankle causing blisters, as someone else mentioned. They may just require some breaking in but I havent worn them enough to know for sure. Other than the bleeding foot, the woolen navy pair feels and fits well :-)

I really wish I would have listened to the negative reviews about this shoe. Im not sure if its by design or if it is just poor quality control, but on the left shoe especially there was a spot on the heel that curved inward causing a very sharp ,and very painful, edge leading the shoe to cuts deep into your heel. I have a cut, and even bleed into my sock! Keep in mind , I wore this shoe with socks and to my office. I wanted a pair of white sneakers - I probably shouldve just got Stan Smiths, or Converse, or Vans, or maybe just something from Payless rather than waste money on these.

Looks good but it fits a bit narrow. I dont believe these are true D"s. You might have to order up a half size if your feet or even slightly wide.

Only wore these shoes 5 times. Here are my thoughts so far. Pros: *Light and portable. *These are off white. Pure white can be overpowering bright and glaring. Ever try to dirty your brand new white sneakers a little before wearing them? These goes with everything the same way. *Minimal, simple and elegant design. *Very comfortable cushion for my feet. *Feels resistant to getting dirty compared to my other white sneakers. Have not wiped them at all and they still look clean. Cons: *Big deal here. I used long to low cut thicker socks (standard low cut that show a bit) during my initial wears and had no issues. One day, I used thin low cut socks to work and the minute I stepped out of my vehicle, it dug into my Achilles badly. I barely could walk a few feet and was in total agony from the parking lot to my office. Luckily, I brought extra heel pads out of caution from other reviews. I was pretty doubtful of those at first. The heel pads do help, but a little bothersome. This is a let down given the price. *A big concern is the durability of the leather. It is light and soft, but crease very easily and awkwardly around the shoe. I was walking and staring at them at first, but decided to stop being a maniac. It is less visible to see creasing with the white color. Think carefully getting a darker color. Use a shoe tree or stuff them to maintain its shape. That seems to help. I tried a half size down, but it was a bit too tight and snug. I got my true size and noticed the length did not differ substantially, but it was a little wider and a lot more comfortable for my feet. Perhaps size down if you are between half sizes. I rate them 3.5.
