I love these shoes (and all Sperry shoes; theyve been my last few pairs and they hold up great/look great, etc.). Ive only had these a few months and have gotten like 10 compliments on them, and theyre also very comfortable. My one complaint was that the laces were that stiff round kind - but it wasnt a big deal I just replaced them with laces from other shoes I had laying around that I dont wear anymore.

Sperry has apparently changed the design of their canvas deck sneaker, discontinuing the version that worked better for me. I write this review in case others are in the same boat. The previous version was not cap toe, didnt have the chaffing arch grommets and was a bit roomier. This new version of the same size cuts me across the arch due to the stitching of the cap toe, is too narrow and too short forcing the tips my big toes to bang the front of the shoe with each step. The next half size larger is like wearing clown shoes. Why discontinue a good thing? The slip-ons are closer to the old design so Im going that route even though I prefer the lace-up look. Just disappointed.

3rd pair, great shoes, much better than Vans. This last pair though seems almost like a second, it had places where the dye on the canvas is not even. Not a big enough deal to return them but still...

Ive worn these 5 times. The foot bed is coming apart, fabric separating from the padded portion, and the padding is far too thick. I generally like Sperrys but if I could send this back, I would. The return window on these is too short. If youre buying shoes, buy from Zappos, their return policy is much more generous.

I purposely got a half-size larger than my real foot size, and ordered wide, but its still too narrow on my right foot. However, as I age, its becoming very difficult to find any shoe that fits me. I need it extra wide around the toes but narrow or flexible around the heel. With some surgery on my right shoe, its the best pair Ive found in a long time. Cutting through the right wall of the shoe, I discovered how well its really made - super thick sidewall. I cut a flap for my pinky toe and used shoe goo to hold it out while sealing it so theres room for that toe inside the shoe. With that modification, these are very solidly made shoes with extra comfortable and well made insoles. I walk many miles a day and may end up ordering these again next year.
