These are my second pair of Salomons. I trail run in Fellraisers throughout the year. I purchased these for hiking and hunting. However, after wearing these I am also looking forward to running in them. I live in the Pacific Northwest so we get a lot of rain. During my hunts this fall, my feet stayed dry and comfortable. The traction is top notch and aggressive. The boot is lightweight and made long hikes much easier. My feet didnt feel heavy at the end of the day. Ill keep this review updated as I get more miles on these through the winter.

Let me preface this by saying that Im hard on shoes. Im a utility meter reader. We walk many miles daily on both paved and unpaved surfaces. Keeping my feet dry and comfortable are the two biggest concerns. I have been using various Keen "waterproof" mid-tops with varying degrees of success and wanted to try another brand. Comfort - 4/5. The insoles do not cup your feet and you can feel it, but theyre quite comfortable. Arch support is also good. Theres a lot of support all the way around your foot, giving great stability. Grip - 5/5. Very grippy. A lot better than Im used to with Keen. Waterproofing - 2/5. The liner on these leaks like a sieve. Invest in waterproofing spray and bring extra socks. They do dry quickly, though. Construction - 5/5. Seems solid. Unlike Keens, the soles arent a ton of layers waiting to come apart. I love the laces. They arent weak or too long. Also tend to stay tied better than Im used to.

Hiked a few muddy trails in these and wore on cold snowy/slushy days and they delivered. Breaks in right out of the box, incredibly light, and stays dry in all conditions Ive worn them in so far. Extremely satisfied.

I have been a Merrill fan for many years but after being disappointed in my last 2 boots falling apart I decided to try Salomon. I talked with some cool dudes who do some real cool guy stuff for a living. They are all Filipino and have tiny thin feet. After doing some reasaech I picked these up, they fit very nice a little snug for me. I had a hot spot for the first few hours but after some use it went away. The thing that impressed me the most is how light the boots are compared to some of the other ones I own. I haven’t put much work in with theses yet but so far so good if they last me a year they are a MUST BUY!

I bought these boots for a Grand Canyon hike 2 months in advance so I could put some miles on them beforehand. They seem to be well made, grippy and light. The problem is the left boot squeezes my narrow foot so tightly that it takes two days to recover after a hike! I kept hoping it would break in and feel like the right boot which is comfortable, after over 50 miles nothing has changed. Today is the Grand Canyon hike and Im forced to wear an old pair of boots because Salomon wasnt careful to make the left and right boots fit the same. Im extremely dissappointed and cant reccomend these boots.
