I am in Houston. We are in the midst of hurricane Harvey. All I had to wear were flip-flops and tennis shoes. I remembered my new Sketchers and put them on with some thick socks. They fit great for the first time on! They protected my feet and was able to get out in horrible weather. Needed to get out in the rain and mud to inspect my property. Everything was intact. Was very pleased with my new shoes. Would definitely recommend them and buy them again!

I stated that the shoes "Fit As Expected" and by that I meant the length and width, but this shoe has another issue to look at in its overall fit department and that is the room around the foot (maybe above the foot)! This could be good or bad according to the user. I wear a 10.5 W and this shoe is a good fit, but the boxed area around the foot is ROOMY! above the foot, which means they have room for heavy weight socks, or an added insole. I gave them a four star not for lack of quality, but for the sole on them, or not making the same shoe with a better suited sole for indoors. They have a VERY deep lugged sole like a good outdoors work or mud boot, but for indoor purposes the tread on these picks up EVERYTHING from just getting from outside to the inside, even pretty good size gravel. The weight isnt bad at all, but they are NOT a light weight shoe either. They sole and combined insole puts a lot of material between your foot and the ground (Floor) meaning that these shoe will elevate and lest an inch or MORE!. On the construction, they seem to be very well made overall.

Buy these shoes on October 17 and with normal use go to work the shoe has broken, I have images ... it is not fair that with 2 weeks of use the shoe is broken ... I expect an answer on this. Thank you! Jose Rondon jfrondon26@gmail.com joserondon26@hotmail.com

Update: Have had these 1 yr 3 months. Still look ok. tread is like new still. One negative Id have to add is since I bought them the price has increased about 35%. Its the same boot, it doesnt cost 35% more to make the same boot. In fact they were probably a 1 off run and they call cost the same to make. From $41 to $54 (for my size). at almost $60 with tax there are a lot of options for work shoes. really like these boots. Id like to get a pair with harder leather as these seem to gouge up easy. i apply mink oil often so they look fine. have had thme a little over a year, only used for work. mainly walk on bare hard floors tread looks close to new.

I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of these shoes. They fit great right out of the box. I wear a size 12 and have a slightly wide foot and these feel great. They are slightly big, but not so much that I would want to go down 1/2 size. The insole is a little thin (and its glued in) so I dropped in an aftermarket insole and theres still plenty of room for a comfortable fit. I wore them for 7 hours the day I picked them up and had no problems or discomfort at all. The true test will be how well these hold up over time. I wear them in my shop and they will take a bit of a beating. Note: Despite being the "Sketchers USA" series of shoes/boots, this particular pair was made in Vietnam. Are these on par with Red Wings? No, but thats ok because they werent $250, either! If these hold up for a year or two, they will be worth the $50 price tag and I would bump my rating up from a 4 to a 5..
