Husband received boots on December 8th, by the 18th the stitching had torn out to the point you could stick your fingers through the hole. Not sure if the stitching was rotten or a manufacturing default or what. However until this point my husband said they were comfortable. Contacted Amazon and the third party seller wanted a 20% restocking fee to replace or refund the item. Instead Amazon refunded the full amount. Not happy with the product, but very happy with Amazon.

As soon as I opened the box I loved them!!! They smell like a new ball glove!! These are so nice to me that I almost dont want to wear them to work. If you are looking for a nice work boot, look no further. Id buy these again tomorrow if I needed new boots. This is the first day, so going to wear them around the house for a couple of days then there off to work after that. I will leave another review in a week or two to let you know.

3rd pair of thorogoods! I normally wear the 6" safety toe of this model in tobacco, but decided to try the 8" in the darker brown and my feet have fallen in love again. Tried on the red wings at a local store and was not impressed. For under $250 these are a bang for the buck that can not be beaten! made in America, although unfortunately with *some* "global components". Will continue to buy these as the last 2 pairs lasted between 3-4 years. I do wish they were fully made in the US and would pay more for a 100% US made boot. Your FEET WILL THANK YOU. Also, try to oil these up even though they are waterproof out of the box, taking that extra step will prevent concrete dirt, some oils and other muck from sticking to your boots.

These are the best boots I have ever had , hands down.At first they seemed a little too big , I ordered my usual size .After wearing them for a couple months they fit perfectly .You will want to put a water proof seal on them I used bees wax .These boots hardly even scuff .They look new after wiping them off with a damp rag.Most of all they are well built and are way comfortable. No rocks or dirt get inside .Give them time to break In .These boots are my most compfortable shoes.

I love these boots. Im so proud to be buying american. I always hear people compare these to Redwings, Ive never been able to get myself to purchase a pair so i cant compare them myself.. but Thorogoods have always been an excellent boot, ive always gotten compliments when i wear a new pair. Theyre very comfortable and break in pretty quickly. The longer you wear them, the longer youre able to wear them in one sitting. I wouldnt call them heaven on earth, still waiting to find those, but until i do, these will be my go to boots. My first pair lasted about about a year and a half, and even then the leather was in pretty good condition, the strings were a little frayed but the soles were worn out. I guess I could have had them resoled, but i didnt feel like going through
