I looked at my current pair on tennis shoes and decided it was time to replace them. I assumed I would find a good deal on a pair of Nikes and be done with it. As I started shopping, I found myself wishing I could find a pair of shoes that would be work for long days of standing and walking, athletic support, and be good looking enough to wear both for going out and every day around the house use . With a little bit of filtering mens shoes for walking and customer reviews, I found this pair of Rockports. Quite simply, they are the most comfortable and good looking shoes I have ever purchased. Usually I let the price of the shoe make my purchasing decision, but with diabetes, I decided to spend more and focus on the comfort of my feet. These shoes are worth every penny. They have a generous fit, but not too loose, great quality, good looks, and easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn.

So far day 1 with these shoes and I love the look and style of these. I have the black pair and got to wear with uniform pants when at work These look enough like dress shoes but they arent. Got into the shoes for work today and they felt good. After 6 hours gosh doesnt even feel like I am wearing shoes. Very comfortable. A plus, my big toe is not cramped pushing up against the shoe at all. Maybe Ill update this after a few months on how the construction holds up.

My husband says these shoes were a nice fit and comfortable from the start. These shoes do not have the heft and support of the Rockport Mens Road & Trail Waterproof Blucher Rain Shoe, which my husband prefers for serious walking, but he likes these for general walking around. HOWEVER, other reviewers are right: the shoe laces are too short! He could tie them, but not double-knot them, so every few blocks he was forced to retie them. These original laces measure 45 inches. We bought "50 inch" replacement laces (which actually measured 49 inches long.) These new laces fit fine.

There’s something with the laces that I can’t put my finger on they never seem to stay tied no matter how tight you tie them. I find this particularly annoying when I’m involved in intense walking and need to keep stopping and retying these shoes. Other than this annoying issue these shoes look and feel fantastic.

I purchased as a walking/work shoe and neither was achieved. The soles are rather stiff and causes each step to be clunky and not allowing a smooth stride. A walk down a long hallway will keep reminding me that I purchased the wrong shoe. The other peeve is the short and round laces that will un-tie in a matter of hours. You will spend extra time tying your shoes every day. I plan on going back to the New Balance Black walking shoe and I will donate these rockports to at least allow someone to use them...hopefully better than what they are wearing. The shoe looks great but the functional reasons for me buying (10,000 steps /day) are just not there.
