This is an update to my earlier review. I returned the first pair and then also the replacement pair i received because they were uncomfortable and both pairs had only half of an insole. I am 74 years old, and in all my life and all the pairs of shoes I’ve ever worn, there has never been 1/2 of an insole. The front part of the shoe under the ball of your foot and your toes is just raw shoe bottom. I am still wearing the same style of Rockport shoes as these, that I bought 15 years ago, and they have a full insole and they have always been comfortable. I have no idea what Rockport has done to this latest manufacturing version, but it slips up and down on the heel being too loose, and the 1/2 insole construction is absolutely ridiculous. Very uncomfortable shoes. Previous Review: I dont know if the pair I got is defective or if Rockport makes them like this now. The inside of these shoes have only half of an insole...from the heel to the middle of the arch area. See the attached picture. There is no leather insole under your toes. I have never seen a pair of shoes like this in my life. I called Rockport 3 times over a 2 week period, trying to get them to do something for me, and their customer service did not respond. Finally, all they said was to return them to Amazon. Buyer beware. These are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I couldnt keep them on my feet for longer than a minute. I am going to ask for a replacement pair assuming that this pair is defective and that they all are not made this way. I will update my review after I get them. I have worn MANY pairs of Rockport shoes over the years and have usually loved them...but these are pitiful.

I wear a 12 4E in New Balance tennis shoes. That being said I bought a blue pair in 12 2E and they are perfect when I wear them with no socks. I also bought a pair in brown at are a 12 3E, and they are a tad too wide, but I still like them..I can easily wear the 3E with thicker socks and be fine...the 3E is a tad loose with no socks, so I just lace them a little tighter. I think these are more comfortable than Topsiders. Much better quality for sure. You know how Topsiders have very flat soles...kind of like karate shoes? Not that thats bad, but these have just a little better support while still feeling like a boat shoe.

Terrific boat shoes. Very well made with a strudy counter and heel seat. These replace a pair of mephistos that I had for many years and are just as good at one third the price. Mephistos are now made in Turkey and are just not the same quality as they used to be. Funny thing; I went to a Rockport store and they did not have these. The sales person said that this model is a year and a half old and only on line. I bought another style at the store, and while they are nice, this style I purchased on Amazon is a better shoe. I am very happy with this purchase

These are a great pair of boat shoes. I previously had a pair of Rockports from years ago that I recently got rid of due to issues not related to wear and tear and knew that Id get another pair. They run a little larger than some shoes, so while I wear a 9 for some brands, Im an 8.5 for these. Knowing this, they fit perfectly. Since I have a bit of a wide foot, I untied them, put them on, and then retied them. Overall a nice fit, comfortable, and just as good on an hour long walk as they are just heading to the mailbox. For a casual summer shoe, I highly recommend these.

As other reviewers have mention, these are very comfortable and stylish - "Made in Indonesia" First, I would like to say: No shoe is perfect for everyone and every manufacturer has a variation in size, one brand a size 12 might fit perfectly and another a size 13 - just be flexible. The second I saw the shoes, I knew they were of good quality and much better than my Sperrys. The Toe Box of the shoe is fairly wide which should allow for more comfort on hot days. The color is solid navy blue with hints of khaki through the stitching, shoe laces and foam padding between the sole and the shoe. There is arch support and the insole rides curved up the shoe at the heel in order to keep your heel in place and the design is the same at the arch. I suppose the insole could be replaced when worn-out, but they seem to be glued into place. Hope you enjoy the shoe as much as I have been the past few hours.
