Rothco Uniform Oxford/Hi-Gloss Shoe

So after buying an annual pair of dress shoes for my uniform (usmc) i turned to rothcos. Typicly Bates are good for a year or 2 before a large scuff does them in and your out $100. The last pair of rothcos i bought i had for about 3 years with only minor scuffing. The down fall of these shoes is the shoe litterally started to split in half across the top where the creasing goes along the toes. But with the low cost, it doesnt break the bank for a pair of shoes i wear once every 2 or 3 months. if you had to put them on more often than that then i would fork out the extra for the bates. But for just the ocasional ceramony and barricks duty i would just wear these.

I was leery of purchasing an inexpensive pair of shoes but only need them periodically for my Marine Corps League events where I wear our "casual" uniform with Dress Blue trousers or our red blazers. Much to my surprise, these shoes exceeded my expectations. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on and the finish looked good.

I have never had dress shoes be SO uncomfortable. I dont know that going down to a size 14 would help. So Im pretty used to new shoes needing breaking in, get that leather soft. These shoes are relentless in pain and dont let up even a month after purchase. I bought some heavy duty sole inserts from Dr Schols, no improvement. My toes are just more pinched and squished. Theres something not right with the cut of the toe section, it feels like knives are stabbing them. The top of my toes are red after each workday. Wearing double socks sort of helps, but thats a ridiculous solution. I am literally probably going to throw these out because nobody would want to wear these.

I wore these shoes 3 time 10 hrs max, and they look like crap. Cracked, finish on the upper looks like Ive had these shoes for a long time with many miles on them. Will return to Bates brand. Serves me right for being a cheapskate.

Got the shoes in time for my Veterans Day lunch at my daughters school. Completed my uniform perfectly. I usually wear ABOUT a 10.5 (I bought an 11) and these fit just right. Its hard to tell with shoes on sizing, since each brand varies a little from the next; I figure its best to go a little over on size if I cant try them on first, loose is better than cramped. They were received brand new, perfect condition and in original box. They are "patent leather", not real leather, but they had the perfect black gloss I wanted, they fit well although a little stiff (expected) and the price and delivery time was fantastic.
